No Ford F-150 Lightning Discount Offered In January 2023

Ford F-150 Lightning discounts are non-existent in January 2023. That means The Blue Oval is not offering any sort of incentive or deal toward the purchase or lease of its all-electric pickup.

2022 Ford F-150 Lightning

This may not be a surprise, as The Blue Oval has yet to offer a particularly attractive Ford F-150 Lightning discount or incentive thus far. Customers looking to lease the EV pickup can expect to shell out quite a bit, paying as much as $706 monthly for 39 months on top of a $6,133 down payment for the base Pro trim, or up to $1,701 per month for the range-topping Platinum trim.

It’s important to note that while Ford itself isn’t offering a Ford F-150 Lightning discount this month, certain models do qualify for the $7,500 Federal EV tax credit as long as the overall price of the EV pickup does not exceed $80,000. However, customers who choose to lease instead of purchase are not eligible for the aforementioned tax credit.

As Ford Authority recently reported, the price of the F-150 Lightning just keeps climbing higher, seeing its MSRP grow in August 2022 and again in October. In fact, current pricing is approximately 40 percent higher than it was upon the pickup’s launch in 2022. This is likely due to increased demand among limited supply at the dealer level, discouraging the automaker from offering a Ford F-150 Lightning discount, as customers will likely purchase it no matter the price point. Increasing commodity costs related to the Lightning’s batteries are another reason why pricing has skyrocketed since its arrival in 2022.

Critics seem to think the elevated pricing of the F-150 Lightning is worth it. Recently, the EV pickup earned the North American Truck of the Year Award shortly after claiming the 2023 MotorTrend Truck of the Year Award. The Ford F-Series line, which encompasses internal combustion-powered models plus the F-150 Lightning, also retained its title as best-selling truck in 2022, a clear indication of the popularity of The Blue Oval’s pickups.

No incentives are being offered because Ford is about to raise the price of this vehicle, again, probably in 6 months.
