Watch The 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor Dash In The Mud: Live Photo Gallery

Ford Authority recently spent a week with the 2021 Ford Ranger Lariat, taking the Tremor-equipped pickup for a spin in the mud. Coated in the flashy Cyber Orange Metallic, our Lariat came outfitted with a host of substantial upgrades all thanks to the Tremor Off-Road Package – making it perfect for a tussle in the dirt. Now, we’re sharing all the down and dirty images (pun intended) in the following Live Photo Gallery.

As a reminder, the Ford Ranger Tremor took the Tremor off-road formula established by the F-Series Super Duty Tremor, and applied it to the midsize pickup truck, slotting above the available FX4 package with even more rough-stuff capability. Produced at the Ford Michigan Assembly Plant, the Ranger is powered by the Ford 2.3L I4 EcoBoost engine bolted to The Blue Oval’s 10-speed automatic transmission, delivering 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque.

The Tremor Off-Road Package includes a host of exterior and interior features to ramp up the capability of the pickup. On the outside, these include a Black steel exposed bash plate, Magnetic painted front grille and fender vent surround, as well as skid plates covering the radiator, electronic power steering system, transfer case, and fuel tank guard. In addition, the package includes rear tow hooks, 17-inch Magnetic painted aluminum wheels wrapped in off-road all-terrain tires, surrounded by Magnetic painted wheel arches and front and rear bumpers – perfect for making waves with each ride through the mud.

Riding on Ford’s T6 platform, the Ranger incorporates Fox 2.0 monotube dampers with remote rear reservoirs and hydraulic rebound stops. The shocks are specially tuned with progressive rebound end zone damping to support vehicle control, which is absolutely necessary for epic mud sliding. Meanwhile, the front and rear springs are tuned for greater off-road composure. A multi-leaf rear spring setup enables increased wheel travel, while anti-roll bar stiffness has been reduced to minimize disruption over rough terrain and improve comfort off-road, so take the rougher road as you won’t feel the difference.

On the inside, the 2021 Ranger features Ebony leather Miko seats, tray-style floor liners, as well as a Terrain Management System with four drive modes. Trail Control and additional Black interior accents are also included all of which help the driver to stay dry – and extremely comfortable – while whipping through the the muddy terrain.

I’m in love with the Ranger power and payload. I had experience with the 2017 model and I hope the 2023 will not disappoint with the interior that looks and feels vulnerable
