2023 Ford F-150 order banks have been open for a while now, though at least one particular variant – the brand new, budget off-road-focused Rattler – sold out rather quickly. Over the past few years, we’ve seen order banks for numerous popular models close in rapid fashion, largely due to supply chain issues, and now, that seems to be affecting the 2023 Ford F-150 as well. In fact, sources familiar with the matter have told Ford Authority that 2023 F-150 order banks are closing – at least for a handful of select features.
Next Monday, February 13th, 2023, Ford F-150 order banks will close for new SuperCab configurations with the STX Black Package, Stone Gray and Rapid Red exterior colors, and extended running boards. SuperCab pickups with the STX Black Package are also only compatible with the twin-turbocharged Ford 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, though those ordered with the Ford 2.7L V6 EcoBoost or Ford 5.0L V8 Coyote prior to February 6th will be built. However, dealer stock orders containing any of these aforementioned features will no longer be eligible for scheduling or production starting February 6th.
These changes likely won’t be the last for the 2023 F-150 lineup – or the rest of The Blue Oval’s current offerings – given the fact that automakers continue to face ever-changing supply chain issues. In fact, Ford CEO Jim Farley recently stated that he believes constraints will continue to present problems for the automaker for the foreseeable future.
In addition to the aforementioned Rattler, the 2023 F-150 lineup is also getting a pair of other new models – the Heritage Edition and Raptor R. The Heritage version of the pickup pays tribute to 75 years of continuous Ford F-Series production and features two-tone paint and other special touches, while the Raptor R arrives packing a modified version of the supercharged Ford 5.2L V8 Predator powerplant and a six-figure price tag to boot.
We’ll have more on the F-150 Rattler soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for the latest Ford F-Series news, Ford F-150 news, and ongoing Ford news coverage.
