Ford has placed a renewed focus on gaming in recent years, and with great success – in fact, the automaker has created quite the buzz in that particular industry thanks to its efforts. Aside from sponsoring and participating in esports competitions, a number of Blue Oval models have made appearances in some popular video games as of late, including Forza Horizon 5, which has already added the sixth-generation Ford Bronco, as well as the Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400 EV demonstrator. Now, those FoMoCo models will soon be joined by the Ford F-150 Lightning, too.
This addition is part of the forthcoming Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure, which is the second expansion released for the game since its launch. Debuting on March 29th, the Rally Adventure will be available on Xbox, PC on Windows and Steam, and Cloud Gaming (Beta), is included in the Forza Horizon 5 Premium Add-ons Bundle, the Premium Edition, and Expansions Bundle, and is also available for standalone purchase at $19.99.
Set in Sierra Nueva, Argentina, Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure invites gamers to choose between one of two teams – the Grit Reapers and the Apex Predators – before competing in eight different races, with a few PR Stunts thrown in for good measure. This particular expansion features the most racing events of any to date, encompassing both on- and off-road tracks and some night racing to boot.
Perhaps the biggest news regarding this latest expansion, however, is that it includes 10 new vehicles gamers can experience – one of which is, of course, the Ford F-150 Lightning. Decked out in Platinum trim, the F-150 Lightning present in Forza 5 is far different than its real-world counterpart, however, as it’s been equipped with additional lighting, upgraded bumpers, a special livery, and a bed-mounted rack with all the goodies one might need to spend some time off the pavement – at least virtually speaking.
We’ll have more on the F-150 Lightning soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for the latest Ford F-Series news, Ford F-150 news, F-150 Lightning news, and non-stop Ford news coverage.
