The Ford Maverick has earned its fair share of accolades in recent months – including a spot on Consumer Reports‘ recommended vehicles list – while the fuel-sipping Ford Maverick Hybrid also recently landed on CR‘s top 10 most satisfying vehicles list and has remained a stalwart on the Kelly Blue Book’s list of the top considered electrified vehicles for multiple quarters. Now, the Ford Maverick Hybrid is once again basking in the praise of critics after Consumer Reports has placed the electrified pickup back on its list of the most satisfying vehicles on sale today.
As is always the case, CR‘s list of the most satisfying vehicles comes straight from its owner surveys, and more specifically, one particular question – “given the opportunity, would you buy or lease this vehicle again?” The percentage of owners that respond with a “definitely yes” are what constitutes a vehicle’s overall score, and in this most recent version of the survey, the consumer organization collected responses from over 300,000 owners.
CR looked at data from the 2020-2022 model years, as well as select 2023 models, so long as those vehicles didn’t undergo any significant changes in that time span. In that regard, the Ford Maverick Hybrid finished fifth on this particular list with a score of 88, behind only the Chevy Corvette (94) and Porsche 911 (90), while the compact pickup tied with the Kia Telluride and Rivian R1T, both of which also finished with a score of 88.
It’s an interesting mix for certain, but as CR points out, this list is typically dominated by sports cars and fuel-efficient hybrids and plug-in hybrids. As such, the EcoBoost-powered Maverick finished with a lower score of 71, proving that buyers of the compact pickup favor fuel economy over things like performance and capability.
We’ll have more on the Maverick soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for the latest Ford Maverick news and comprehensive Ford news coverage.

LoL at their price points, the Porsche and Corvette owners would probably be embarrassed to say otherwise.
Great, except I can’t find a Maverick and if available, they are gouging another $3000 – $5000.
My 2023 Maverick was built on 1/23/23 still not shipped why?
When ford says it’s built, it sometimes has other steps. Inspections, body shop, etc. it took two months for mine to show up at the dealership after it was “built”. Then there is the shipping phase. 😳
Mine was built about the same time. Ford tells me will be here 2/9-15….dealer says most likely end of month. I’m outside Austin, so it’s on rail to San Antonio for distribution. Other distribution points are Houston and Dallas-have been told those two are backed up.. Good luck! I’ve been waiting 15 months and ready!!
My maverick was shipped to I didn’t know where. It has been 18 months since I was at the dealership to place an order for a new vehicle, I for one will never order a vehicle again. I will only buy off the floor.
I’m with you…. We place our XLT order early July 2022. I would have settled for a XL – but at that time no cruise——I wanted cruise and CoPilot 360….. that pushed me to an XLT. The production story continues to change. Just received an email from Ford telling us they are sorry for the delays.
We tried to buy one off the lot but dealers have added approx 8 to 10 thousand on models that were ordered and turned down.
On the fence as to wait or look for something else…. It’s just I want a hybrid truck and I like the price of under 26k for the XLT. My friend was told his Maverick was shipped and is in Jacksonville….. been there for almost two months. Good luck you. Hope you get your truck soon.
I’m with you. My last attempt at ordering.
Hoping that F rolls out a Hybrid AWD Bronco Sport and Ranger for 2024. If so, sign me up for one of each !
300,000 reply’s to the cr survey, and less the 50,000 sold/built from 2021, 22 and 23. Do all these owners take the survey 6+ times each?
I realized the same thing in article. Maverick hasn’t even sold 300,000 units. How do they get that many reports? I ordered my hybrid on Sept 20, 2022 and just got a “scheduled” build starting week of Mar. 20, 2023. We will see. Never had to wait this long for an ordered vehicle. Ford is doing a lot of things wrong.
It’s 300,000 Consumer Reports members in total that responded to the survey questions – all of whom own different vehicles – not 300,000 Maverick owners.
I ordered my Hybrid sep 15. I was the 3rd ordered and 1st hybrid at my dealership. I still don’t have a build date. I’m beginning to believe they don’t exist.
Be patient. I waited 18 months but am so happy I did. My last tank of gas scored me 610 miles. 👍
You have my hopes up that the supply chain is on the mend.
I think the Maverick is really a unicorn!!!!
I ordered July 2022…. Ford just sent me an email telling me “sorry” …. More delays. I may not ever see my new hybrid unicorn.
I’m in “love’ with my Ford C-max hybrid. Relatively problem free. I would buy a new Ford of similar type.
I ordered my Maverick Oct. 2021. Still no build date! No other company could stay in business without a projection plan as to when products would be produced. They should at least give me a projected date!!!!!
I am 73 yrs. old and hope I get my truck while I am still alive!
I agree. I am 80 and told my wife she could probably use my ordered Maverick hybrid as my coffin. That is if it ever gets here.
Ordered mine Sept 2021 received May of 2022 and extremely happy with my “GIFT”. I would order it again and wait, it is worth it! Like Bosko , on a recent trip scored 620 miles
I ordered my maverick oct 2022 still no word when
I ordered mine on 10/11 2021, build date is 3/3/2023. I am 75 years of age, but I truly believe that I will get to see this Maverick in my driveway.
Yep my date is the same 3/3/23 I’m hoping we get good news 😀👍
Yo, any update on your truck?
Not sure when my 23 Mavrick will be here . Doesn’t matter the 22 Hybrid I currently have is doing great. Yes I paid over the MSRP. I’m 73years old, I wanted a Mavrick. It’s only money and you can’t take it with you.
My 2023 ford maverick lariat luxury hybrid is getting 46.4 miles per gallon. Today my one way trip to work is 20. 1 miles it showed 10. 2 of the trip being electric miles. I’m very happy with it. I ordered it September 17 2022 and took possession of it on January 15 2023
Really only 4 months hard to believe. Hope you continue to enjoy your truck.
I ordered same on Sept 16 and don’t even have a build date or a VIN.
Ordered my Hybrid XLT 11/11/21, finally built week of 1/9/23, Shipped week of 1/23/23 with 2/15/23 projected delivery to dealer, believe it when I see it. They definitely take the fun out of buying a new vehicle, getting too old to do this ever again.
I order my maverick Sept 9 2022 I haven’t heard any thing about what doing
on my order. There was 3or 4 that was delivered.
I have the money to pay in full
