While the U.S. awaits the arrival of the next-generation Ford Ranger and Ford Ranger Raptor later this year for the 2024 model year, the mid-size pickup is already on sale in various international markets. Certain trim levels and variants are already in high demand, however, with customers facing long wait times stretching up to a year in some cases. Regardless, while we just got our very first look at the North American spec Ford Ranger Raptor coming off the production line yesterday, the high-performance off-roader is adding yet another market to its list – Argentina, where it will arrive this May.
Ford Argentina is reportedly prioritizing existing Ranger Raptor customers who order the new version, though it’s otherwise pretty similar to the one that’s on sale in other parts of the globe. Ford notes that Argentina’s version of the Ranger Raptor churns out 397 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque from its twin-turbocharged Ford 3.0L V6 EcoBoost, which is interesting because it produces 392 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque in every other market except for Europe, where it generates 284 horsepower and 362 pound-feet. In all markets, the mid-size off-roader utilizes Ford’s 10-speed automatic transmission.
Otherwise, there aren’t really any notable differences between the Ranger Raptor destined for Argentina and the rest of the world, as it still sports the same rugged exterior styling and fortified suspension, which includes aluminum upper and lower control arms, a long‑travel front and rear suspension, a refined Watt’s link rear end, and Fox 2.5-inch Live Valve internal bypass shocks.
The Ford Ranger Raptor is available in five exterior colors in Argentina – Metallic Orange, Performance Blue, Arctic White, and Stone Gray – and is set to go on sale by the end of May, though pricing for the rugged pickup has yet to be announced.
