Ford Super Duty Among Most Considered Vehicles Of Q4 2022

The all-new, redesigned 2023 Ford Super Duty is just beginning to hit the assembly line, but the pickup has already racked up hundreds of thousands of orders from eager customers. It’s certainly a good sign for The Blue Oval that its proverbial cash cow has conjured up so much early interest, and that seems to extend to new vehicle shoppers that are simply perusing their options too, as the Ford Super Duty was among the most considered vehicles in Kelley Blue Book’s Brand Watch Report for Q4 of 2022.

While Ford fell from its long-held spot as the second-most considered mainstream brand on the market this past quarter, the Ford F-150 managed to rank as the top considered vehicle in Q4, while the Ford Super Duty was behind it in eighth place. Those two vehicles were part of a heavy pickup and crossover/SUV-heavy lineup that also included the Chevy Silverado 1500, Honda CR-V, Toyota Tacoma, GMC Sierra 1500, Dodge Durango, Honda Civic, Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, and Chevy Silverado HD.

Shopping consideration for trucks was the only segment that increased in Q4, according to KBB, while all others faced a decline in that regard as the market continues to cool off a bit. In fact, one-third of all new vehicle shoppers considered a truck of some sort last quarter, showing some resilience as conditions worsen.

The Kelley Blue Book Brand Watch report is a consumer perception survey that also weaves in shopping behavior to determine how a brand or model stacks up with its segment competitors on a dozen factors key to a consumer’s buying decision. Kelley Blue Book produces the quarter Brand Watch reports for non-luxury and luxury brands and assesses shopping for electrified vehicles. The methodology includes surveying both mobile and desktop users instead of only desktop users.
