1999 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning With 3K Miles Up For Auction

The Ford F-150 SVT Lightning remains a popular vehicle among collectors and enthusiasts alike, for a variety of reasons – chiefly, the fact that it’s something automakers simply don’t make anymore – an on-road-focused performance pickup. As such, we’ve seen quite a few SVT Lightning pickups hit the auction block and sell for big bucks in recent months, including a 17k-mile 2000 model, a 21k-mile 2001 pickup, and a 4k-mile 2002 Lightning. Now, yet another example has surfaced for sale with just 3k original miles on the clock – this one-owner 1999 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning up for grabs at Cars & Bids.

Like a proper time capsule, this 1999 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning is in amazing condition, and it’s also the first model year for the second-gen version of the hi-po pickup, which makes it a bit more special. Like its brethren, it’s also easy to spot thanks to its Lightning-specific body kit, Flareside bed, and body color trim. This particular truck isn’t completely stock on the outside, however, as it’s wearing a set of 18-inch chrome SVT wheels and a fiberglass tonneau cover.

Inside the cabin, it is bone stock and incredibly clean with the factory leather and cloth upholstery, a power adjustable driver’s seat, sliding rear window, white faced gauges, power windows and locks, air conditioning, cruise control, and an AM/FM/cassette radio with a six-disc changer to boot.

Of course, the big news about the second-gen Lightning was its impressive performance, which is largely due to its supercharged Ford 5.4L V8 powerplant that is rated to produce 360 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque. That power flows to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission and a 3.55 limited-slip Traction-Lok rear axle, and is supported by a specially-tuned suspension and four-wheel disc brakes. For those in the market, second-generation SVT Lightning pickups simply don’t get much nicer than this, and as expected, it has already ignited a bit of a bidding war with five days to go in the auction.
