2020 Ford F-150 Among CR’s Most Popular Used Vehicles

Aside from being the most popular new vehicle in America for decades, the Ford F-150 is also a highly sought-after entity on the used market too, accounting for more sales than any other model last year, while certified pre-owned examples of the pickup were among the most-viewed at CarGurus, too. Now, the 2020 Ford F-150, specifically, has been named as one of the most popular used vehicles on the market by Consumer Reports, joining the 2020 Ford Escape in that regard.

To come up with this latest top 10 list, Consumer Reports simply looked at which used model pages on its own site drive the most traffic, meaning that they’re the most searched-for models overall. Most of them have already received CR’s recommended status, meaning that they’ve performed well in road testing, are reliable, have superior crash ratings, and come equipped with a bevy of standard safety tech.

In this case, CR limited its list to vehicles that are three years old, mainly because that’s when most leased vehicles tend to be turned in, and those types of models are attractive for having lower mileage, as well as the fact that they’re typically well-maintained. In that case, the 2020 Ford F-150 ranked ninth on this particular list, behind the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, Toyota Highlander, Subaru Forester, Subaru Outback, Mazda CX-5, Ford Escape, and Toyota Camry, as well as ahead of the Honda Accord.

Consumer Reports praised the 2020 Ford F-150 for its lighter aluminum body, which helps improve fuel economy, as well as generous amounts of space, a quiet interior, an abundance of standard features, excellent visibility, and advanced safety tech. In fact, the consumer organization had very few qualms with the F-150, save for the fact that shoppers will likely want to skip the work truck-oriented XL for higher trims, which feature more content and nicer materials.
