Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2021-2022 Ford Bronco models over a rearview camera issue. This addresses vehicles with 8-inch Sync infotainment screens that were previously remedied under another recall issued last November.
The defect: in affected vehicles, the rearview camera image may still be displayed after a backing event in has ended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, “Rear Visibility.”
The hazards: a rearview image that continues to be displayed after the vehicle is shifted out of reverse may distract the driver, increasing the risk of a crash.
Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.
Components: Sync module software
Affected vehicles: select 2021-2022 Ford Bronco models produced at the Michigan Assembly plant from January 20th, 2021 to May 18th, 2022.
Number of vehicles affected: 1,651
The fix: dealers will update the Sync module software, which can also be completed via an over-the-air update, free of charge.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on May 1st, 2023. The Ford reference number for this recall is 23C05.

Everyday there is another recall posted regarding Ford vehicles being recalled. What will it take for Ford to get out of this rut they have been in for a minimum of my entire life and I am 70
Years old.
I know in my own experience it was questionable who had the keys to my car or truck the dealer or me.
For at least 35 years Ford has touted various quality programs. They hold their suppliers feet to the fire over the suppliers quality yet they seem to have no qualms about letting vehicles off of the line that will require lengthy fixes at the dealers.
I have a Maverick ordered and it really bothers me knowing that there is a good chance the vehicle will need to make trips back to the dealers for repair.
I gave up on Ford 20 years ago and started buying Jeep brand vehicles which according the reviews are one of the worst brands to buy. I have yet to make the trips to the dealers get things fixed.
Maybe Ford should start writing SCARS against itself to get everyone in the company onboard and keep them on board. Don’t let it turn into the program of letting it be a quality system in name only.
Read the content. This is a nothing burger over the air simple software update, customers don’t even need to leave the house. The media is jumping over every negative Ford tidbit lately. This is how stock prices get manipulated. I’ve even seen this is companies like Apple (2013), iPhone sales dropped for 1 quarter and the sky was falling and every day another Apple gloom and doom ‘story’ appeared. It was a great time to buy Apple stock, just like now is a great time to buy Ford stock. Bronco has, and will maintain, massive demand. The sales dent in the Jeep monopoly is huge, and Bronco customers are as loyal as Jeep customers are.
Yet ford leads all manufacturers in recalls. What you call a nothing burger is just another sign that Q-1 has plummeted. I’ve been a Ford guy for 50 years and Ford is disappointing us loyal customers.
Morning MAC. Ya, However, Buying APPLE STOCK, is Totally Different than Buying FORD Stock. (At any Point). Back in the day, ya I’am a Bit older Now Day’s, Stupid me, as a Young Buc Raising a Family back then (The 1980’S), had the Opportunity to buy APPLE STOCK @ $4 and change. (Couldn’t afford It)????? And was too young to Understand how it worked, and basically didn’t have the $$$$ . “O” Well, Cudda, Wudda, Shudda???? My Loss for sure!!! BUT… FORD STOCK. Maybe at some point it will go up, But now, ya might as well go with Krispy Cream Doughnut’s!!! It’s higher than FORD Every Day…. .
Oh Kenny Kenny, what is your fascination with Krispy Kreme? I do agree with the “stupid me” part of your comment tho.
Fact is that both Ford and Apple and every other stock has gone up and down over time and even now.
And fact also is that Mackie is right about bad faith commenters trying to move the market.
So you say that for your entire life ford has had bad quality and have bought Jeeps the last 20 years but then you buy a Maverick and expect it to be a lemon?
I really doubt the veracity of your comment as your logic makes no sense.
“Quality is Job 1”.
😂😂😂😂😂😂!!!! 🤷♂️, And we Own a New 2022 F-150 with open Recalls awaiting PARTS, (Most Likely From CHINA)???? I’am Telling ya, Quality Control is a Thing of the Past with All these BIG car Manufactures Nowadays?? And if ya can’t get the Software Correct???? MAN, what are Customer’s supposed to do???? What an ever Loving MESS we have with Car Manufactures and Attempting to Build something NICE and….. Reliable!!! All I can say is…. WELL DONE IS BETTER THAN WELL SAID!!!
