Since its launch for the 2022 model year, the Ford Maverick has easily been one of the most sought-after new vehicles on the planet – which is both a good and bad thing in some regards. The Maverick’s immense popularity is great news for FoMoCo, but at the same time, the automaker has struggled to keep up with demand, as many reservation/order holders are facing long waits before taking delivery. That’s certainly still true today, well into the compact pickup’s second model year, and now, sources familiar with the matter have told Ford Authority when 2023 Ford Maverick production will end.
2023 Ford Maverick production at the Hermosillo Assembly plant in Mexico is currently scheduled to end this coming October after it initially began back in November of 2022. This timeline matches up closely with 2022 model year production, though as is always the case – these dates are subject to change, particularly so given the many ongoing supply chain constraints that automakers such as Ford are still facing. Regardless, FoMoCo is working to ramp up Maverick production, and plans to add a third shift at the Hermosillo plant this coming July to help in that regard.
The 2023 Ford Maverick launched with a handful of changes for the new model year, including the introduction of the new Tremor Off-Road Package, Tremor Off-Road Appearance Package, and Black Appearance Package. The compact pickup did get a noticeable price hike across the board, however.
In the meantime, the Maverick continues to win over both consumers and critics alike, with the hybrid model consistently ranking among the most considered electrified vehicles on Kelley Blue Book’s quarterly Brand Watch report while also making the cut as one of Consumer Reports’ top 10 vehicles for 2023.
We’ll have more on the 2023 Ford Maverick soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Maverick news and continuous Ford news coverage.

Did you just hear the buzzword woke and think this applies to everything? what’s “woke” about EV? You sound more butthurt, look that one up.
What’s not woke about an EV? Blue haired hippies
Talk to me like I’m 5 does this mean after October Maverick its over and done? Like no more even with all these demand?
It means that they will roll to a 24 model year, likely with a very short order window again.
So to be clear it just means the order window is short again not that they are canceling this vehicle
I just got my hybrid Maverick after a 17 month wait and have been averaging 40 mpg ,worth the wait.
My October 14th 2021 order finally came in February 2023, I fully agree that it’s worth the wait. Such a well executed truck. XL hybrid, I’m completely satisfied with it in every way.
Agreed. I waited 18 months but at nearly 600 miles to a tank a gas it’s worth it. Even if Michael does think I’m woke. 😜
At least the significant price hikes should relieve some of the pressure on meeting demand. Ridiculous dealer markups accomplish the same thing, just in a more underhanded way.
Received my Ford Maverick on Mar 3, 2023 after a 20 month wait. Got 530 miles on first tank of gas and looks second tank is going to do same. Well worth the wait.
Even more stupid is that you’re here commenting.
Pre-ordered my November of 2021 and stll haven’t received it.
ORDERED MINE NOVEMBER 9, 2021 also still haven’t received it.
XLT Hybrid
Ordered my Maverick XL hybrid on Sept.18th, 2023 and received my scheduled for production email last Thursday!! A few months ago Ford had encouraged those of us who ordered a hybrid to switch to an EcoBoost or risk not getting a Maverick built this year because of the high demand for Hybrids. I damn near switched my order but decided to hang on a little longer and it has paid off!! I can’t wait to get it! BELIEVE!!
how did you order your maverick in the future? Did you mean Sep 18 2022? Telling us that you received your scheduled for production email doesn’t mean anything to us. We need to know when Ford is estimating that your vehicle will be ready? Basically we need to know how many months from when you ordered it to when it’s scheduled for delivery. Thanks
Got mine after six month wait – well worth it! Woke technology blew most of the maggots out of the tail pipe. No matter who or what you are on this planet, this IS a very well designed vehicle.
I have a question for all of you that have received your truck.
Are any of taller than 6ft 4? How comfortable are you in the truck? Ford is notorious for building vehicles where the seat doesn’t go back far enough how about this truck?
Thanks all who answered
How did Ford build such a great vehicle? Did the Japanese help them? I guess there is a first time for everything…
Look up Maverick Truck Club forum and I believe there are some tall members who can answer your question.
Do they not have any Mavericks are the dealership near you?
Not seen any in Long Island Y yet the 2023
I’m 6’6″ 265 lbs and have not received mine yet but I was able to test drive and I fit very well. So unless there are changes from the 2022 that I’m not aware of you should be good. Seat and wheel had good adjustability.
Still waiting to be scheduled for Hybrid ordered in Oct 2021. My older car may not make it to when I actually get this one.
Go to a dealer and sit in one. most dealers have 2022 for sale on lot
That’s a good one 🤣
There are none available in Maine 2022 or 2023
They ran the wheels off crt, now it’s woke.
Waited 6 months (ordered July 2021, received Dec 2021). I’ve never been happier with the new vehicle…XLT hybrid. Perfect fit of just enough truck for 95% of truck needs, with good comfort. The battery and electric motor just helps it be very gas efficient… really political issue, but I understand a small number of people just look for any avenue to express they’re negative views regardless of which political camp they’re in. DON’T LET THE POLITICIANS DRIVE A WEDGE BETWEEN US, we’re all Americans. Thank you Ford for building a vehicle that people want… More please.
D, thanks for your comment. We all need to tone it down and be friends on our little blue planet!
Ordered an eco boost, Nov 3 2021, rolled over to my23 fall of 22, three emails from Ford since order, no contact with dealer since reorder. Last email from Ford Oct. 3 2022. Terrible customer service and update info. Oh well, you’re left in limbo with this manufacturer. If you really want a Maverick all you can do is wait!
Don’t be mad. Ford stops ordering for all current years, every year around this time. You cannot order a 2023 anymore because the production of 2023 will end before they can build it. This is why you were told to wait until fall.. it’s not that they don’t like you
Come on Ford get your s$#t together. Ordered mine in October 2021 havent heard a peep, only the dealership asking if I want to cancel. Ah no, I will gladly wait as I am locked into 2021 pricing. Maybe I will get it at the 2 year yaer makr of me ordering it?
I drive a 2012 Lincoln Hybrid MKZ that has similar if not identical engine and drive train. Replacing it with a fully loaded Maverick Lariat that I ordered September 2022. No build date notice yet, but I certainly hope mine does not get pushed into the 2024 production as what happened to some 2022 orders pushed into 2023 production cycle.
I ordered a 2023 maverick XL on September 15, 2022. Ford customer service cannot provide me any information on when I might actually get my vehicle except to say that it may roll into the 2024 model year next year! In the meantime, Ford dealers are charging up to $12,500 over sticker for hybrid XL‘s. I got sick of this treatment and tired of waiting one out and bought a new Hyundai Santa Cruz SEL all-wheel-drive. It’s a much nicer vehicle than the Maverick! My last dealing with Ford!
These are not your grandfather’s dealerships anymore. No more 100’s of cars, pick one and drive off the lot. I’ve had Ford’s my entire life but 20 months is insane. I bought a Subaru Crosstrek
Ordered a Hybrid Maverick Nov 3, 2021…..and i’m still patiently waiting 🙌
Both my husband and my son ordered their 2023 Ford Mavericks in September 2022. No news…just periodic automated emails ensuring us we haven’t been forgotten.
Maybe I am just one of the lucky ones because I ordered my XLT Hybrid 9-19-22 and have been following my order on the internet. Today it shows ( In Production) as of 3-22-23. With any future luck I can take delivery by the end of April therefore about 7 1/2 months. Based on all the positive reviews I am really looking forward to taking delivery. Additionally have not owned a pick-up truck since 1978.
Larry, what do you mean you are following your order on the internet ? How do you do that ? I ordered the most basic model 2023 on Aug 15 and have had zero communication from Ford, and none from the dealer except responses of “you’ll know when I know “ to my 2 emails to him. Thanks !
I wanted one of these. I tried to order after the order banks opened back up for the 2023 model. The Ford dealership I contacted acted like it was a bother, and wanted to charge me $2000 over sticker. I gave up on them, and purchased a Dodge Ram. I was paying cash, and this left me with a poor opinion of Ford.
Never tell them your paying cash! This will actually hurt you. They make most of their money with financing and add-ons.
Trump 2024!
OMG, this has NOTHING to do with the Maverick.
I know, so much better then commenting on a “Found On Road Dead” or a FIX Or Repair Daily” vehicle.
You should have shopped around. The internet had several dealers that never charge over msrp.Local dealers that had on lot wanted $10,000 over.I ordered Sept. 16, asked to be upgraded to a better order number.Got truck Dec 30th.
Placed my order and paid a $2500 deposit on the first day of the order window 9/16/2022 for a 2023 XLT. Four months later the dealership informed me that they didn’t process the order.
you are an ignorant joke.
These dealers are doing a market adjustment that is ludicrous. I refuse to pay it. I will stick with my old Nissan Frontier. Screw these dealers!
I honestly can’t figure out why it’s so popular, because to me, the idea of putting semi-modified “Truck” body panels on a FWD subcompact car is kind of a joke, especially coming from the company that builds the world’s most popular trucks.
It has virtually no capacity to haul anything, almost no towing capacity, and is named after one of the worst cars Ford ever built.
I just think it’s more of a joke than a legitimate vehicle, and will stain Ford’s reputation for job ready trucks.
It has a higher payload than some full size trucks, a bed that’s half a foot longer than the loved explorer sport Trac, and would blow the doors off the older rangers, while getting much better MPG, and literally more than twice as safe. If you need more truck, then buy more. Most people don’t.
Ive got a 22 Maverick with tow pkg.4000lbs towing capacity 1500lbs payload,No capacity Lol. If you want more than that buy a half ton.Must be pissed because you can’t get one?
People kill me when they bash on the Maverick’s capabilities. It’s not like your going to buy one and tow a 10,000 lb. Camper. Most people know what your getting when you order one and if the name causes you to not buy it your the joke they could have named it Pinto🤣
When can I order a new XLT Maverick?
When can I order a new XLT Maverick. With a 8 way powder seat? I had driven one . And really like the truck
Still waiting on order I put in with Eide Ford in Bismarck Jan 22. No word yet on build date.
Can Siri be into the ‘MaverickXLT when ordering. Still waiting for my Ford dealer to let me know when I can order one. Also need a 8 way power seat. Thank You
I ORDERED THE FIRST ONE ON DEC. 21. DID RECEIVE IT!!!! ORDERED THE SECOND TIME, 2023 MODEL ON SEPT. 16TH. HAVEN’T RECEIVED IT EITHER. JUST WAITING, WAITING, AND WAITING!!
Sold out from me! 6 months ago I successfully ordered a hybrid Maverick from a dealer. Last week I called asking for news. They had mixed up the paperwork. The truck was delivered and sold to someone else. “I’m sorry” is all I received from Ford Customer Relations
I spoke to my local dealer yesterday. They said out of all the hybrid mavericks they have sold, there are only 4 in production and all 4 of them are rollovers from ’22. I ordered mine on 9/16 and I was just told there is a likely possibility that mine won’t get made at all. The big issue with this is (if you’ve read any of the Ford updates) they will not be rolling ’23 models into ’24 models. Therefore I could end up waiting over a year to be told I have to cancel my order and then place a new one to (hopefully) come in??? This is insane!
We ordered a Maverick in October of 2021. About every 5 to 6 months we get the same “supply chain” letter attempting to explain the delay. This has been very frustrating. It does not speak well of Ford.
I don’t like the order process. I want to see it, get in it, drive it. You know, kick the tires. I’ll wait for the new Baja hopefully I can get it from the dealership.
