2024 Ford Mustang To Drop Stealth Package From Lineup

The Blue Oval offered many optional packages with the S550 generation Ford Mustang over its lifespan, a list that included – quite recently – the Stealth Appearance Package, which debuted for the 2022 model year and added a few darkened elements to the pony car. However, sources familiar with the matter have now told Ford Authority that the all-new, S650-gen 2024 Ford Mustang won’t be available with this particular package.

The Stealth Appearance Package is not an available option for the 2024 Ford Mustang, which means that it will ultimately be put out to proverbial pasture after two model years. The package is currently offered on the 2023 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Premium Fastback at a cost of $1,995 and adds a host of unique features including black badges, a black pony grille, black mirror caps, 19×8.5-inch Ebony Black-painted aluminum wheels, a performance rear wing, clear LED taillamps, and stealth lighted sill plates.

The Stealth Appearance Package isn’t the only thing going away for the 2024 model year, as it will be joined by the Coastal Limited Package, the Ice White Appearance Package, and the Mustang’s AM radio functionality. Ford is introducing the new Reduced Capacity Amplifier option in the event that a semiconductor chip shortage warrants it, which isn’t the case at the moment. The latter option affects only pony car’s B&O Sound System, which has 12 total speakers, including an in-trunk subwoofer, and is optional on EcoBoost Premium and GT Premium models, as well as standard equipment on the range-topping Dark Horse.

Otherwise, the new pony car offers more of pretty much everything when compared to its predecessor, including power and a new mirror-mounted USB port. However, all of these new features will come at a cost, as the 2024 Mustang is more expensive than the current-gen S550 across the board, as Ford Authority previously reported.

Drop Drop Drop. I am now amazed that Ford has decided to DROP the 6 Speed manual Transmission from the Ecoboost Mustang. This is SUPPOSED to be sports car but is automatic only!!
What highly compensated rocket scientist at Ford decided this was a good idea? What is wrong at Ford? I wanted to order a new 6 speed Ecoboost convertible but not now. I will buy elsewhere.

After owning seven Mustangs over the years, FORD has now pushed the excitement of a Mustang to the back shelf. It looks like your choices are limited on special editions. I just got my military discount certificate ($500) to buy a new Mustang. I want a MACH 1 (RED). My dealer told me that the closest available car was 400 miles away and the dealer wouldn’t give it up. I found another Red Mach Mach 1 in my area with a $5K ADM on it. There’s a couple of Fighter Gray MACHS in my area. As my wife said, “that’s the ugliest Mustang I’ve ever looked at”! I see a few grays, medium grays and dark gray cars in the inventory that been in stock for a long time. Who orders these cars?
2022 cars were shipped after 2023 models???
I guess a new GRAY DARK HORSE @ $65K is what they want me to buy!
I guess I’ll frame my Military Discount and do without!
