As it aims to go all-electric across its entire European passenger vehicle lineup by 2030 with fixed pricing, Ford is also launching seven new EVs in that region by 2024 – a list that includes a pair of crossovers built on Volkswagen’s MEB platform. The first of those two is a sportier crossover with some Ford Mustang Mach-E influence inside the cabin, but at the same time, the automaker is also winding down production of vehicles like the Focus and Fiesta, with the Kuga and Puma looking like they could be the last two Blue Oval ICE offerings in Europe. Meanwhile, the automaker’s first EV in Europe – the Ford Mustang Mach-E – just reached an important milestone by recording 50,000 sales since its launch there.
That particular Ford Mustang Mach-E was delivered to German natives Hakan and Berrin Can, who hail from Warendorf in North Rhine-Westphalia. The couple picked up their new Mach-E GT from Autohaus Ebbert GmbH in Güterslo, a model that’s finished in Absolute Black and equipped with the standard Extended Range battery and all-wheel drive. For the Cans, the Mach-E was apparently the perfect fit for their needs.
“My wife and I chose the Mustang Mach-E because we needed a car suitable for family use since the birth of our son Nesim,” Hakan said. “We were particularly impressed by the design, the generous space, and the overall technical package. I am convinced that electric vehicles are the future.”
“Thank you very much, Mr. and Mrs. Can, for choosing the Mustang Mach-E,” said Patrick Schenzler, Ford Director Passenger Cars for the DACH markets (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). “For us as a company, and also for our Ford dealerships, the delivery of the 50,000th Mustang Mach-E is a milestone on our common path towards an electrified future.”
We’ll have more on the Mach-E soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Mustang Mach-E news and ongoing Ford news coverage.
