Employees Wowed By Euro Ford EV Before Reveal: Video

After years of anticipation, the first of two new European Ford EV crossovers – a sporty mid-sizer – is set to debut tomorrow. Over the past several weeks, FoMoCo has teased this new model extensively, showing off precious little, but at the same time, doing enough to whet our appetites as we await its official reveal. Now, on the eve of that special occasion, the automaker is giving us one more teaser of this future Ford EV.

This latest teaser shows us the reactions of a handful of Blue Oval employees as they get to take a sneak peek at the new Ford EV crossover, and as one might imagine, they’re all quite impressed by it. From its styling to roomy interior, these folks shower the model with praise, with more than one proclaiming that it will be their first all-electric vehicle purchase. The video doesn’t show us much of the crossover at all -save for the top of the hood and a tiny bit of the interior – but it’s notable, nonetheless.

Aside from expanding its lineup as it aims to go all-electric in Europe by 2030, this new Ford EV will play a big role in the automaker’s push to significantly ramp up its all-electric vehicle production this year as well. The new model was originally teased back in December, when Ford Model e head Martin Sander partially pulled a cover off the vehicle to give us a tiny glimpse at it, and just one month later, Ford Authority spotted the new EV out driving around on public roads for the first time.

Last month, Ford Authority spotted the European EV out once again, after which FoMoCo teased its wheel coverings, a very large front Blue Oval badge and a portion of the bumper, and just last week, gave us a very-much zoomed-out view of the EV driving across all sorts of different types of surfaces. Regardless, the long wait to see this future vehicle in the flesh is almost over, at which time we’ll know if the general public approves of it as much as these select Ford employees.

That sunk in charging flap makes me wonder if the skin we see in these pics is a shell hiding what’s underneath.
