With Ford looking to convert its entire European passenger vehicle lineup to EVs by 2030 or sooner, the automaker is also launching seven new all-electric models by 2024 – two of them built on Volkswagen’s MEB platform. The first – a premium “sport” crossover, which may be called the Explorer Sport – is set to debut later this month. The new European Ford EV was teased by the automaker back in December, and was later spotted by Ford Authority covered in heavy camo in February, before another teaser was released just last week. Now, we have been treated to yet another sneak peek at this European Ford EV, courtesy of Model e Europe head Martin Sander.
T-minus 20 days! Time for Amko Leenarts to reveal a bit more about how the team designed our brand-new #EV from the ground up to embody the spirit of exploration…
All this & more to look forward to at the reveal on March 21st in Cologne. #ExploringReinvented #ElectricVehicle pic.twitter.com/HRJaoSfOwH

This new teaser once again stars Amko Leenarts, Ford of Europe design director, who gives us a peek at the vehicle’s interior – which features some Ford Mustang Mach-E inspired features. Those include the Heathered Gray textile that hides the speakers present in the crossover’s B&O sound system. This sighting also reveals that the sport model is getting an optional sound system from a company that Ford already leans on for audio. This is notable because it confirms that the European Ford EV will utilize Blue Oval infotainment and other electronics – not Volkswagen bits, as the German automaker uses Fender for its premium audio systems.
While this seems like a safe assumption, the next-generation Ford Tourneo Connect is essentially just a rebadged VW Caddy, even utilizing that automaker’s engines and simply reaming them to fit the EcoBoost family. Thus, it seems as if the MEB-based European Blue Oval crossovers will deviate a bit further from their VW counterparts in a number of ways.
We’ll have more on Ford’s future European EVs soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for ongoing Ford news coverage.

All the “Exploration” references probably gives you a good idea of what this will be called.
Agreed, unless Ford is gently trolling us. LoL.
