Ford Blue Advantage Launches All-New EV Certified Tier

Since officially launching in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ford Blue Advantage – the automaker’s online marketplace for certified pre-owned vehicles – has proven to be a big success for the automaker and dealers alike, particularly when new vehicle inventory was near record low levels. Since then, a number of competitors have introduced their own, similar programs – including General Motors and Honda. The result of that effort has been clear, with certified pre-owned sales increasing by 26 percent in 2021, while Ford Blue Advantage closed out 2022 by helping the automaker post a 3.4 percent increase in certified pre-owned sales while the overall market declined by 9.4 percent. Now, FoMoCo continues to tweak this program by introducing a new EV certified tier.

This isn’t the first time The Blue Oval has made changes to the Ford Blue Advantage program, as it previously added a 14-day, 1,000-mile money-back guarantee and elongated terms of up to 84-months in financing. Now, in addition to Blue and Gold certified vehicles, Ford has added a special EV certified tier for – as one might assume – all-electric vehicles.

The terms for this new tier are similar to that of Gold certification in that both apply to vehicles that are up to six years old with no more than 80,000 miles on the odometer. Eligible vehicles are subjected to a 127-point inspection and come with a 12-month, 12,000-mile comprehensive limited warranty, an eight-year or 100,000-mile BaseCARE EV Limited Warranty, the aforementioned 14-day, 1,000-mile money-back guarantee, complimentary 24/7 roadside assistance, and 22,000 FordPass rewards points.

In addition to these benefits, customers taking advantage of the new EV certified tier also get a CarFax vehicle history report on their new/used vehicle, a three-month SiriusXM trial, a full charge, new wiper blades, and the ability to obtain service at any Ford dealer, though only select entities are participating in the Blue Advantage program in terms of sales.
