NASCAR Ford Teams Can’t Seal Deal In 2023 Atlanta Truck Series Race: Video

The lead was traded plenty of times during the Truck Series race on Saturday, 18th, 2023, and quite a few laps were lead by Ford F-150 race trucks. However, The Blue Oval’s teams fell off toward the end, leaving the day to once again be claimed by a Chevrolet.

The No. 88 Ford F-150 race truck of Matt Crafton led for a total of 29 laps as he was tailed by a freight train of Chevy racers, but he proved to be no match as the race wore on. Ben Rhodes, driver of the No. 99 Ford F-150, took control of the race for three laps, but was ultimately passed once the pit cycle sorted itself out. In fact, it was thanks to a push from Rhodes’ No. 99 F-150 that the No. 19 Silverado even made it to the lead, though Rhodes lost positions as a result.

Ultimately, Rhodes’ No. 99 F-150 crossed the line in fifth, while Crafton’s No. 88 NASCAR Ford finished ninth. It was an otherwise wild race, with 11 caution periods for 58 laps, and 17 lead changes among nine drivers. Meanwhile, Zane Smith, driver of the No. 38 NASCAR Ford F-150, was involved in a late-race wreck, eliminating his hopes of winning.

  1. Ford is running a Chevy based engine…dont watch it….and just as soon see a Chevy win….Ford Performance is wasting money being in that series…until Ford and Nascar lets them run there engine….Chevy fans…are laughing …its a not win for Ford ..and win win for GM….nobody just pulls for a body…IROC proved that many years ago.
