Those in the market for a unique Ford Mustang have certainly had their fair share of those types of vehicles to choose from lately, with a list of auction finds including a 2013 Roush Stage 3 model, a 2017 Roush Warrior coupe, a 2008 Roush Speedster, a 2010 Roush 427R with vertical doors, and a one-off retractable hardtop convertible built by Galpin Auto Sports for SEMA. Now, pony car fans have yet another former SEMA show car to choose from – this 2020 Ford Mustang GT California Special coupe that’s currently up for grabs at Cars & Bids.
With just 1,800 miles on the odometer, this 2020 Ford Mustang is essentially brand new, and as such, looks fantastic inside and out. It emerged from the factory equipped with the aforementioned California Special Package, as well as Equipment Group 401A and loads of niceties, but it’s also equipped with a long laundry list of modifications to boot.
On the outside, that list includes tinted windows, an aftermarket rear diffuser, and 17-inch VMS Racing rear drag wheels fitted with Nitto NT555RII tires, which gives us a clue as to what’s going on under the hood. There, the car’s stock Ford 5.0L V8 Coyote powerplant has been treated to a GT500 supercharger, high-flow water pump, fuel injectors, and rails, a Whipple 10-rib pulley system, a ZPE GripTec 3.05-inch pulley, a VMP Performance return-style fuel system, a custom cooling system, a Livernois Motorsports carbon fiber cold air intake, Texas Speed catless headers, a Corsa Performance Xtreme cat-back exhaust, an upgraded crank sprocket and oil pump gears, and a Lund tune.
This particular 2020 Ford Mustang hasn’t been on the dyno, so it’s unclear what sort of power it’s making. But given this list of upgrades, it’s safe to say that it’s a pretty healthy amount, which flows to the rear wheels via Ford’s 10-speed automatic transmission and a 3.15-geared rear end. For those looking for a modified pony car with some serious oomph and unique features, it certainly fits the bill in that regard.
We’ll have more cool auction finds like this to share soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Mustang news and continuous Ford news coverage.
