As pony car fans are already well aware, the S550 gen Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 is a special machine, one equipped with a very special engine – the naturally-aspirated, flat-plane crank, Ford 5.2L Voodoo V8 – a high-revving, sweet-sounding powerplant if we’ve ever seen (or heard) one. Of course, there’s far more to the most recent GT350 than that, making it a desirable entity on the collector car market. However, this 2018 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 that’s up for grabs at Bring a Trailer is a bit more special than most, largely due to its connection to Steeda, a company with a history that’s highly intertwined with the Mustang in general.
This 2018 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 is owned by Steeda’s Director of Marketing, Chris Cervenka, who purchased the car back in 2021 and proceeded to have his own company work their magic on it, which resulted in the Shelby receiving its own unique serial number – Steeda GT350 #2018-002. This car’s list of modifications is a mile long as well, starting on the outside, where it’s been treated to a Cervini’s GT500-style hood, upgraded lighting, and a Ford Performance rear spoiler.
The Shelby GT350 rolls on a set of black 19-inch wheels wrapped with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires measuring 295/35 up front and 305/35 out back, and features a full array of suspension upgrades. That list includes Steeda’s MagneRide lowering springs, camber plates, IRS subframe bushing support system, billet aluminum vertical links, adjustable rear toe links, IRS support brackets and an alignment kit, and adjustable front and rear sway bars, along with GT350R brakes.
It is worth noting that the original Voodoo powerplant was replaced with a second-gen unit at 35k miles, and that unmodified powerplant sends power to the rear wheels via a Tremec TR-3160 six-speed manual transmission and a 3.73-geared Torsen limited-slip differential.
After putting all this work into his ride, Cervenka didn’t exactly just take baby the car and take it to car shows – rather, he has driven it as Ford intended, getting some wheel time in his modified GT350 at various tracks around Steeda’s hometown of Valdosta, Georgia. Now, the Lead Foot Gray beauty is up for grabs with a low 43k miles on the clock, waiting for its next owner to keep that tradition alive.
