Steeda Special Service F-150 Debuts As Customizable Pickup

Steeda has been cranking out performance parts and entire turnkey Blue Oval builds for many years now, including the Ford F-150 Raptor Edition and a pair of Special Services Vehicle (SSV) models based on the Ford Mustang and Ford Explorer, which are designed specifically for law enforcement use. Now that lineup is expanding yet again with the addition of the Steeda Special Service F-150, which gives police a more utilitarian vehicle to cruise around in and also chase bad guys when necessary.

The Steeda Special Service F-150 starts out as an XL SuperCrew two-wheel drive model with a 6.5 foot bed and the twin-turbocharged Ford 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine and 10R80 10-speed automatic transmission. From there, Steeda offers customers an array of options, including a leveled, lowered, or lifted suspension for four-wheel drive variants, which gives police departments the ability to spec it out for the particular type of terrain they work on. The leveling kit is provided by Fox, while the lowering kit comes from Ford Performance.

Steeda also upgrades the F-150’s handling prowess with the addition of its own adjustable 1 1/8″ rear sway bar and performance alignment, along with a set of 22-inch Velgen VFFT6 wheels wrapped with Nitto NT420V tires measuring 285/45 at all four corners, or all-terrain tires for customers that opt for the leveled or lifted suspension. It also gives the EcoBoost V6 a bit more power courtesy of an 87 or 93-octane calibration, larger intercooler, and cold air intake.

The result is a versatile package designed to meet the needs of any law enforcement agency, not matter where they might reside, as well as give them a flexible, capable vehicle that can do just about anything well. Coupled with a limited lifetime warranty for the added components on the Steeda Special Service F-150, it should prove quite appealing for those very reasons.
