After facing demand that exceeded supply for some time, Ford Mustang Mach-E production has really ramped up over the past few months after the automaker shut down the Cuautitlan Assembly plant to expand its capacity. As a side effect, prices of the EV crossover were recently cut following multiple increases, a trend that could continue as the automaker plans to expand its capacity to more than 200k units this year. However, those looking to order certain trims of the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E will want to do so very soon, as order banks are set to close this week, sources familiar with the matter have told Ford Authority.
The last day to submit a new customer retail order for a 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E will be tomorrow, April 14th, 2023 at 8am EDT for California Route 1 and GT models. This change will be effective on Ford.com’s build and price configurator tomorrow, as well as via in-dealership ordering, though The Blue Oval anticipates re-opening order banks in early May. Order banks for the Select and Premium trims closed bank in late February, as Ford Authority previously reported, after initially opening up back in August 2022.
The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E introduced a few small changes for the EV crossover’s third model year, including the addition and deletion of two exterior colors, a panoramic fixed-glass roof with infrared reflective windshield became standard on GT and GT Performance Edition models, a few changes were made in terms of wheel options, and standard all-wheel drive for the California Route 1 was added to that trim.
Perhaps the biggest news for 2023 is the deletion of the Ice White Appearance Package and the introduction of the new dark-themed Nite Pony Package, however, the latter of which adds black accents including Gloss Black-painted wheels, black “Mach-E X” badging for RWD models or “Mach-E 4X” badges for AWD models, a pony badge with a black outline, and black-painted wheel center caps with bright pony graphics.
