Big things lie ahead for the Lincoln Aviator, which is set to receive a refresh for 2024, as well as an all-electric variant that will be built at the soon-to-be-retooled Oakville Assembly plant in Canada starting in 2025, and it could replace the ICE version altogether as the luxury brand aims to electrify its lineup in the coming years. In the meantime, the 2023 Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring is still around as somewhat of a bridge between the two, a plug-in hybrid offering impressive performance and efficiency. However, sources familiar with the matter have told Ford Authority that order banks for that particular model are set to close soon.
The final day to submit a new retail order for the 2023 Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring will be April 14th, 2023, as FoMoCo is closing order banks due to high demand. Dealers will have until 10pm on that particular date to submit a new 2023 Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring order, after which they will close for retail customers, at least.
The Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring provides a compelling alternative to its regular, non-electrified brethren by combining the twin-turbocharged Ford 3.0L V6 EcoBoost engine with an electric motor and a 13.6 kWh battery, giving it a combined output of 494 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque, which flows to the wheels via the 10-speed automatic transmission. The Aviator PHEV can also travel up to 21 miles on battery power alone, as well as return a combined EPA fuel economy rating of 23 miles-per-gallon.
In the meantime, the Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring continues to rack up accolades after recently being named the best luxury mid-size SUV in Vincentric’s Best Value in America Awards, though sales continue to lag behind the competition, with the Aviator lineup ranking near the bottom of the pack in Q4 2022.
