Ford Bronco Among Most Satisfying Midsize SUVs

Still in high demand and short supply well into its third model year, the sixth-generation Ford Bronco also continues to rack up its fair share of accolades. Most recently, that list included a spot on on Car and Driver‘s 10Best Trucks and SUVs list for 2023, as well as finishing 2022 as one of the most-viewed vehicles of the year on CarGurus. Now, that trend continues, as Consumer Reports has included the Ford Bronco on its most recent list of the most satisfying mid-size SUVs on the market.

Coming up with this particular list is a rather simple process – Consumer Reports takes a look at its annual auto surveys, or more specifically, a single question that it asks its members – would they buy the same vehicle again if given the chance? The percentage of people that say “yes” is equal to that model’s owner satisfaction score, and ranks each vehicle based on that particular number.

In that sense, the Ford Bronco finished second only to the Porsche Cayenne with a score of 79 percent, receiving high praise from owners who also happen to be Consumer Reports members. CR itself praised the rugged SUV for providing ample power, refined on-road handling and ride quality, and exceptional off-road capability, though it did find wind noise to be a bit excessive and braking distances to be a bit too long for its liking.

While the Ford Bronco doesn’t provide great value thanks to markups and higher-than-MSRP used pricing, it excels in most other parts of CR testing, including driving experience, comfort, and styling, all while delivering a predicted owner satisfaction score of 4 out of 5, making it a popular target for those in the market for such a vehicle.

We’ll have more on the Bronco soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Bronco news and around-the-clock Ford news coverage.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
