Ford Bronco Sport Among Most Satisfying Compact SUVs

Since its launch for the 2021 model year, the Ford Bronco Sport has earned its fair share of praise from Consumer Reports, landing on that organization’s list of the best SUVs that cost less than $30k, one of the best new vehicles for teenagers, and one of the most satisfying small SUVs, though it did lose its recommended status over quality concerns last November. Additionally, J.D. Power previously named the Ford Bronco Sport as the highest-ranked small SUV on the market, and noted that owners are quite satisfied with its Sync 3 software. Now, Consumer Reports continues to lavish praise on the Bronco Sport after naming it as one of the most satisfying subcompact/compact crossovers on the market today.

CR determines these rankings in a relatively simple and straightforward manner – by using data from its annual auto survey, or more specifically, owner/member responses to one question, in particular – would they buy the same vehicle again, if given the chance? The percentage of people that respond with “yes” determines that vehicle’s satisfaction score, which is used to rank the models on this particular list.

In that regard, the Ford Bronco Sport scored a 3 out of 5 in terms of predicted overall owner satisfaction, with individual scores of 78 out of 100 for driving experience, 68 for comfort, 44 for value, and 83 for styling.

Consumer Reports praised the Bronco Sport for its off-road capability and the optional, more refined 2.0L I-4 EcoBoost, though it isn’t a fan of the base 1.5L I-3 EcoBoost engine, which it says “vibrates annoyingly at very low revs.” While the organization praised the crossover’s taut and agile handling, easy to use controls, and abundance of standard safety features, it also wasn’t a fan of the Bronco Sport’s firm ride.
