Ford’s Garage – a burger and craft beer-serving franchise that pays homage to The Blue Oval’s rich history – has been expanding rapidly in recent years, opening up more and more restaurants everywhere from Michigan to Tennessee to Kentucky as it proves to be quite popular wherever it goes. Now, Ford’s Garage has been designated as an official watch location for The Kentucky Derby as well, which is a perfect fit given the fact that FoMoCo has been an official sponsor of the iconic race for a few years now.
Aside from watching the 149th installment of The Kentucky Derby at Ford’s Garage, fans can enjoy a full 10 days of coverage, commemorative merchandise, special giveaways, and themed menu items leading up to the legendary event at all 22 locations between April 27th-May 6th – a cumulative effort between Ford’s Garage, Ford Motor Company, Churchill Downs Racetrack and The Kentucky Derby.
“We’re thrilled to play a part in this prestigious event that means so much to so many,” said Steve Shlemon, President of Ford’s Garage. “The Kentucky Derby is one of our nation’s most beloved traditions, like the pride and strength exemplified by America’s automotive industry that Ford’s Garage remembers. It’s an honor to be celebrating both together.”
Each Ford’s Garage location will be serving up a special menu for this special occasion, one filled with unique cocktails including the Mint Julep and the Woodford Reserve Spire, served in a limited number of keepsake glasses that are free for MotorClub members and can be purchased by anyone else. Additionally, a specially-branded Ford vehicle will be on display at each location.
“We are thrilled to welcome Ford’s Garage into our official partnership with Ford Motor Company and cannot wait to share these curated experiences with the world,” said Casey Ramage, VP of Brand and Partnerships at Churchill Downs Racetrack. “We know racing fans will find that Ford’s Garage is a great spot to grab a seat for the race.”
