Kindred Motorworks Reveals New Off-Road Oriented Ford Bronco

There are many builders of finely crafted Ford Bronco restomods out there in the world, largely thanks to the fact that there’s a pretty big – and lucrative – market for such creations. One such outfit is called Kindred Motorworks, which offers a variety of Bronco restomods with powertrains ranging from the naturally-aspirated Ford 5.0L V8 Coyote engine to hybrids to SUVs with all-electric power. Now, Kindred Motorworks has expanded its lineup yet again, this time with a new, off-road oriented early Bronco model called the Trail Edition.

The Trail Edition Off-Road Bronco is once again based on the 1966 to 1975 first-gen model, combining the best of vintage style with modern tech and amenities. That includes the same third-generation Coyote powerplant as other models, a coil spring suspension, BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, four-wheel disc brakes, a backup camera, leather Recaro bucket seats, power windows, and a Bluetooth stereo.

Additionally, Kindred’s new Bronco restomod is equipped with a front impact bumper with an integrated Warn Zeon 10-S Winch, as well as a rear impact bumper designed to accommodate both a hitch and tire carrier. Buyers can choose from a total of 10 color options, as well as pairing those hues with white accents for a vintage vibe. Pre-orders for this rugged, vintage machine are open now, with pricing starting out at $179,000.

“I’ve owned a lot of older vintage cars,” said Juan Segarra, director, pre-production. “And, what you find traditionally in those cars is a general looseness to the suspension to the steering of vagueness. So as time goes on, components wear out. And even though you replace those components, it just feels old. That’s an area where we’ve worked hard to try and improve. Driving this Bronco was very confidence inspiring. It gives you a sense of stability and gives you the feeling of control.”
