Though the all-new, next-generation Ford Ranger debuted last year for certain international markets, those in North America are still awaiting the arrival of that same mid-size pickup. Ford CEO Jim Farley previously mentioned that the Ranger and Ranger Raptor would launch in that particular continent this year for the 2024 model year, but didn’t provide any sort of specific timeline. However, sources familiar with the matter have now told Ford Authority that the North American 2024 Ford Ranger will debut next month.
This is a bit of a shift versus prior expectations, as the 2024 Ford Ranger was slated to enter production at the Ford Michigan Assembly Plant in May, so it’s unclear if that will still be the case. Regardless, it also means that we won’t have to wait much longer to see the North American version of the 2024 Ford Ranger in the flesh, though Ford Authority has already spied the new pickup uncovered, driving around, on multiple occasions to this point.
Thus far, that list includes a Lariat model with rear bumper steps, an XLT with lots of chrome, and what could be a Tremor SuperCab. From what we’ve seen thus far, the North American version of the new pickup will share a lot in common with the one sold in other parts of the world, particularly in terms of its exterior and interior design. The next-gen Ranger continues to ride on the Ford T6 platform shared with the sixth-generation Ford Bronco – though it has received some updates. It’s unclear what engines might be available in the 2024 Ford Ranger at this time, but it’s likely that the new pickup will retain the turbocharged Ford 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost as its base powerplant, while Trail Turn Assist will make its debut in the next-gen model, too.
Meanwhile, the high-performance Ford Ranger Raptor will also be making its debut in the U.S. this year as well, most likely getting the more powerful Australian version of the twin-turbocharged Ford 3.0L V6 EcoBoost engine, which produces 392 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. Looking further down the road, an all-electric version of the Ranger is expected to launch before 2030, though it will likely be sold alongside its ICE brethren.
We’ll have more on the 2024 Ford Ranger soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Ranger news and ongoing Ford news coverage.

Honestly, I am hopeful that Ford retains the 2.3 liter I4 EcoBoost mainly for better fuel economy.
Kinda hard to call something “exclusive” when basically the same info has been on other sites for weeks.
I’m still hoping they will add the 2.7L EcoBoost to the Ranger line up. If you could get that in an XLT with the Tremor package I might be interested. The Raptor is probably going to be too expensive especially considering the inevitable dealer mark ups.
It makes sense to have the next Ranger simply utilize the current Bronco’s powertrains. The 2.3EB at 300/325, 2.7EB at 330/415, and of course the 3.0EB’s 418/440 would move the Ranger pretty well, especially seeing as Bronco outweighs the current Ranger by 300+lbs. and they certainly have no issues getting out of their own way. And it would make the engine lineup very attractive vs the gm twins 2.7T and Tacoma’s likely upcoming 2.4T and 2.4T+hybrid offerings.
The current Ranger Raptor that we’ve never been able to get weighs about 5200 lbs due to the heavier axles and suspension components compared to the base Ranger. It ain’t light and I doubt the 2024 will be much, if any, lighter. That’s even heavier than my ’18 F-150 4×4 crewcab.
