Back at the 2021 SEMA Show, Shelby American revealed the Shelby Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Concept, which features many of the same visual upgrades as its ICE-powered counterpart, albeit in an all-electric crossover package. It was certainly reasonable to expect that this one-off creation was essentially a sneak peek at the future, one where aftermarket outfits like Shelby create high-performance, more stylish versions of EVs, keeping our beloved hobby alive even amid a massive transformation such as this one. Now, it seems as if that’s precisely what Shelby is preparing to do today with the debut of its latest product – a modified Ford Mustang Mach-E.
Shelby didn’t come out and say that its newest offering is based on the Ford Mustang Mach-E, but that is quite clear from its teaser images of the vehicle, which give us a look at the unmistakable shadowy front end of the EV crossover. This new model will be officially unveiled during a livestream event at 8:30am PST, meaning that we don’t have to wait long to find out what, precisely, it will consist of.
It certainly stands to reason that this new vehicle may share some things in common with the Shelby Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Concept, which features a graphene-infused carbon fiber body kit consisting of a restyled front fascia, fenders, rear flares, and hood, along with a set of blue Shelby stripes on the front splitter, across the hood, over the roof, and down the rear fascia.
Along with a set of 20×9-inch forged monoblock one-piece wheels wrapped with 265/40 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, the Shelby Mach-E GT Concept is equipped with a few performance upgrades including a specially-tuned MagneRide damping system and composite carbon fiber springs.
We’ll have more on this new Shelby Mach-E soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Mustang Mach-E news and around-the-clock Ford news coverage.
