In recent months, we’ve seen a large number of modern classic Blue Oval sedans hit the auction block and command big money, including a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis with just 20 miles on the clock, a 29k-mile Ford LTD Crown Victoria, and a 14k-mile 1997 Lincoln Town Car, to name just a few. Now, that list continues to grow with the addition of this stellar 1998 Ford Crown Victoria, which is currently listed for sale over at Cars & Bids.
This amazing specimen of a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria has lived its life under the same owner since 1999, and it has just 12,500 original miles showing on the odometer – a small sum by any measure. That total is also more notable given the fact that most of these cars were used and abused over the years – including by law enforcement and via taxi services – but this one has clearly been taken care of in the best possible way.
Outside of a couple of scratches, there aren’t many flaws to note here, inside or out. Finished in gold with a beige interior, this Crown Vic is well equipped with niceties such as four-wheel disc brakes, power side mirrors, a keyless entry pad, power front seats, automatic climate control, a multi-function steering wheel, and cruise control to go along with the plush, comfy seats perfect for racking up lots of miles on the highway – even though this one hasn’t.
Power comes from the modular, naturally-aspirated Ford 4.6L V8, which in this guise was originally rated to produce 200 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque, which flows to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. With an extensive maintenance history accompanying it, there simply aren’t many bones to pick with this Crown Victoria – the only question left to ask is, what will it ultimately sell for?
We’ll have more cool auction finds like this to share soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Crown Victoria news and ongoing Ford news coverage.
