The last compact pickup version of the Ford Ranger – prior to that model being reborn as a larger mid-sizer – has gained serious steam in the collector car market as of late, with loads of nice examples popping up at auction. That list includes a 64k-mile 2002 model, a 41k-mile 2001, a 14k-mile 1999 pickup, and an 8k-mile 2011 regular cab. Now, have yet another stellar example of this generation to choose from, as this 2011 Ford Ranger XLT is currently up for grabs at Bring a Trailer with just 5k original miles on the clock.
Finished in Redfire Metallic, this 2011 Ford Ranger certainly looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor, as one might expect from its ultra-low mileage total. The selling dealer did refinish the hood, however, as it was likely faded or peeling, or perhaps it just had some stone chips they wanted to repair. Whatever the reason, there are certainly no other bones to pick here, save for one tire that’s cracked and need to be replaced.
The same goes for the Medium Dark Flint cloth interior, which looks like brand new. This particular pickup is well-equipped, with amenities including air conditioning, cruise control, a factory CD stereo, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and power windows, locks, and mirrors. Peek underneath, however, and there is some rust present.
Power for this 2011 Ranger comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.0L V6, which was factory rated to produce 207 horsepower and 238 pound-feet of torque, which flows to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission, an electronically shifted dual-range transfer case, and the optional 3.73:1 limited-slip rear differential. Overall, it’s a nice, sanitary example of the last compact Ranger, which has become quite popular with collectors over the past few years.
