2020-2023 Lincoln Corsair Recalled Over Rear Camera Issue

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2020-2023 Lincoln Corsair models over a rear camera issue that also affects select 2020-2023 Lincoln Aviator and Ford Explorer models, as Ford Authority previously reported.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the video output may fail, preventing the rearview camera image from displaying.

The hazards: loss of the rearview camera image can reduce the driver’s rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Components: 360-degree camera

Affected vehicles: select 2020-2022 Lincoln Corsair models produced at the Ford Louisville Assembly plant between January 7th, 2019, through December 15th, 2022.

Number of vehicles affected: 30,434

The fix: a remedy is currently under development, though vehicles previously repaired under recall number 23V-022 will need to have the new remedy performed.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on June 26th, 2023. The Ford reference number for this recall is 23S23.

I like that Ford will recall rather than ignore a problem as I see that other automakers often do. I have the 2021 Corsair GT (PHEV) and haven’t had any problems with the rear camera (yet).

I live 30 miles away from a Lincoln dealership and I have no issues with the rear camera, will a Ford dealer within five miles from where I live can do this recall?

Any idea when there will be a fix for the camera issue? I’m trying to buy a 2022 Lincoln Corsair and can’t until it’s fixed. 🙁
