2024 Ford Ranger Comes Standard With STX Appearance Package

Following what felt like an eternity, the all-new North American 2024 Ford Ranger and Ranger Raptor finally debuted just a couple of weeks ago, and as Ford Authority reported shortly thereafter, order banks are currently scheduled to open up on May 26th. Production will follow at the Michigan Assembly plant on August 7th, which is in line with FoMoCo’s estimate of “late summer,” though as always, these dates are subject to change. In the meantime, sources familiar with the matter have also informed Ford Authority of another notable change – the 2024 Ford Ranger will come standard with the STX Appearance Package.

The 2024 Ford Ranger STX Appearance Package includes a bevy of upgrades, a list that includes 17-inch silver-painted aluminum wheels, LED reflector headlamps, halogen fog lamps, a dampened tailgate, and premium cloth-covered bucket front seats.

This change is notable given the fact that for the 2023 model year, the STX Appearance Package was optional on XL High (101A equipment group) models and included 17-inch silver-painted aluminum wheels, halogen fog lamps, an STX box decal (except for models with the FX4 Off-Road Package), and premium cloth bucket front seats with manual adjustment. For the 2024 model year, the Ranger made other features standard – such as the STX package – while eliminating the XL High/101A equipment group.

In addition to these changes, the 2024 Ford Ranger offers up more bed space, as well as increased ground clearance and improved ride and handling. Under the hood, the North American 2024 Ford Ranger is available with either the carryover turbocharged Ford 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost, which produces 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, or the optional twin-turbocharged Ford 2.7L V6 EcoBoost, which generates 315 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Both are mated exclusively to the Ford 10-speed automatic transmission, while pricing starts out at $34,160 – including $1,595 for destination and delivery.

  1. Another forced “option” to justify a higher MSRP.
Like acquistion fees from Ford and door edge guards from Bareknuckle Dealers.

  2. I guarantee you the new Ranger crew cab with the ecoboost V-6 and 4×4 will be in the mid 40k range with no options besides the STX pkg.

It will easily be priced 8k over a comparable Nissan Frontier S crew cab 4×4 with no options.

    1. If you do the builder it will be cheaper unless they raise the 4×4 option over 1k .

  3. I wish Ford would step up to a better bolder looking grill. That grill looks like the weak looking Maverick grill. Some more aggressive body panels would be go a long way too.

  4. Sorry, I will never, ever buy a truck with a painted steel bumper. The paint is not as resistant to stone pecking (and subsequent rust) as chrome. If you don’t believe me, just walk the parking lot and look at 5+ year old trucks.

    1. Most of the front “bumper” looks to be clad with plastic. Rear looks painted. I do agree thou, my last 4 trucks all had chrome.
