2024 Ford Ranger Order Banks Open Up In Two Weeks

After making their respective global debuts last year, the North American versions of the next-generation 2024 Ford Ranger and Ranger Raptor were unveiled earlier this week with all-new styling inside and out, new tech features, and a brand new engine option. However, The Blue Oval was a bit vague in terms of announcing when interested customers might be able to place an order for the new mid-size pickup, though now, sources have revealed that exact date to Ford Authority.

2024 Ford Ranger order banks are currently scheduled to open up in two weeks, on May 26th. Production will follow at the Michigan Assembly plant on August 7th, which is in line with FoMoCo’s estimate of “late summer.” As always, it’s worth noting that these dates are subject to change, particularly with supply chain issues continuing to have an impact on the automotive world.

Those interested in ordering a 2024 Ford Ranger will have quite a few things to look forward to, including more bed space, as well as increased ground clearance and improved ride and handling. Under the hood, the North American 2024 Ford Ranger is available with either the carryover turbocharged Ford 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost, which produces 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, or the optional twin-turbocharged Ford 2.7L V6 EcoBoost, which generates 315 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Both are mated exclusively to the Ford 10-speed automatic transmission, while pricing starts out at $34,160 – including $1,595 for destination and delivery.

The regular Ranger will be joined by the Ranger Raptor for the very first time in the U.S., which is equipped with an array of high-performance upgrades including a heavily-fortified suspension with Fox 2.5-inch Live Valve internal bypass shocks, as well as the twin-turbocharged Ford 3.0L V6 EcoBoost engine, rated to produce 405 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque on premium fuel, which it sends to the wheels via Ford’s 10-speed automatic transmission. Pricing for the high-performance off-roader starts out at $56,960 including destination charges.

  1. Hopefully the Build and Price tool is up before then so we know exactly what we are and aren’t getting!

    1. You won’t be getting the 2.7 initially nor a locking differential.

Anyone know what this article is referring to? I thought they weren’t offering the bigger bed on the Super Cab.

    1. Bed is larger than the current-gen model as Ford stretched its track and wheelbase by two inches.

      1. Ah, thank you for the clarification!

        1. No problem!

    2. The only thing about the bed size that changed is the width between the wheel wells and that was more a result of moving the rear shocks outboard of the frame rails. It is now wide enough to lay a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood, drywall, etc. flat on the bed floor.

  3. Ford says the V6 option is only available on the XLT and Lariat. Sucks that someone who would like the extra power and torque for a work truck has to pay up for the unwanted bells and whistles.

  4. How does the order process work?

  5. Just call your local Ford store and arrange an appointment to order your Ranger. Call ahead though, so you get in as early in the order time frame as possible. Most dealers now should not charge any market adjustments, nor should you have to leave them any deposit, although some will require it. Dealers have no problem if you don’t show up for it, they have plenty of demand pent up and would enjoy any inventory. Make sure it’s fully refundable, in writing, just in case. It shares the line with Bronco, which has high priority these days, but I believe they will want to make the launch as smooth as possible and produce as best they can. Be prepared!

    1. Lariat and I assume Raptor only. It is not availble on XL or XLT even with upgraded packages.

  8. I’m not so into off-roading that I need a Raptor but I would like something in between. You think they will announce a Tremor version before order time?

  9. I am SO anxiously awaiting the order books for the MAVERICK to open. I am anxious to see if they uphold their promise to offer the 2024 Maverick AWD Tremor as a hybrid. I had my checkbook out BUT better caution made me reconsider that first gen ANYTHING is a bad investment, So I will wait until 2025 or 2026 just in case they need to work any bugs out. But I am still anxious to see if Ford will uphold their promise.

  10. Would love to order a Ranger Raptor but Ford would have to do something about their psychopath crooked dealers charging surprise delivery day markups first. 🤷‍♂️
