Following its debut last September, the 2023 Ford Super Duty was always planned to launch in stages, with certain trims and features debuting in early 2023, while the rest were set to follow in the spring – including the brand new gas 6.8L V8. Initial Job 1 2023 Ford Super Duty production was previously slated to begin in early 2023 for XL, XLT, and Lariat trims in all cab configurations, engines, and series, from the F-250 up to the F-600. Meanwhile, Job 2 2023 Super Duty production for King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited trims were set to follow in the spring of 2023. However, Ford wound up pausing Super Duty production at the Kentucky Truck plant to address some quality issues via the new Zero-Defect Launch Process, though now, all 2023 Ford Super Duty trims are shipping to customers.
Aside from all-new styling inside and out, the 2023 Ford Super Duty rides on a strengthened frame and utilizes a brand new cab. Inside the cabin, the Super Duty features either a standard 8-inch touchscreen for the XL or a 12-inch display that’s standard on higher trims, along with a customizable 12-inch digital instrument cluster.
Ford recently invested $700 million in its pair of Louisville plants, while approximately 11,000 UAW hourly workers – around 9,000 at the Kentucky Truck plant and roughly 1,800 at Ohio Assembly plant – assemble the Super Duty. In Kentucky, Ford employs more than 12,000 people and supports nearly 120,000 direct and indirect jobs in the state and makes a state GDP contribution of $11.8 billion, while nationwide, it and Ohio supply 200,000 direct and indirect jobs and add a combined GDP of approximately $19 billion.
“It’s incredible to see production begin for the 2023 Ford F-Series Super Duty Truck, because it represents Ford’s longstanding commitment to Kentucky, our workers and our future,” said Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear. “This was one of the largest investments in Jefferson County’s history, and it followed the record-shattering electric vehicle battery plant announcement in Hardin County. Together, we’re building a brighter future – and I am excited to see this iconic American company continue to succeed right here in Kentucky.”

Expensive
All fix and some variable costs remain at zero production
This article states ALL 2023 FORD SUPER DUTY TRIMS NOW SHIPPING OUT TO CUSTOMERS. When did Ford start production of the upper trim level (King Ranch, Platinum, Limited) 2023 super duties? I ordered a 2022 King Ranch F250 on 4 Jan 2022 and was bumped to a 2023 model in Nov of 2023. I haven’t received any info that Ford has started production of the upper trim level 2023 super duties. I would appreciate any info you can provideprovide.
Does that mean order banks are back open for higher trim models or do we have to wait for 2024 order release date? They need to start making these trucks and not throw all the eggs into the EV market.
the post above is very confusing. it says all trims shipping, then says it was not built cause of shut down. ordered 2023 king ranch in Jan. , Ford sent email last month whining about suppy chain, and would email again in 45 days.
I ordered a xlt tremor last week of April and got a vin # and June build date last week.
Same here! May 1st order day, went into production today, May 25th
I ordered a 2023 F350 Lariat Tremor with the 6.7 H.O. Diesel on Feb 6, 2023 and all I have gotten is a 45 day letter (which was late) apologizing for issues. Ford customer service says they have my order and it’s in the queue but no vin yet. If I don’t hear some good news from Ford soon I will take my money to GM and buy a HD AT4x, GMAC has incredible rates right now anyway. And I am a Ford stockholder and lifelong customer, I understand delays but this is beyond that.
I was mad that I ordered mine in March 22 and it was a Lariat model. After being told it would be built in June and then again in August I finally picked it up Dec 24, 22. The wait was crazy but the lack of information was worse. At the least they need to keep the buyer informed a lot better than they did with me.
I ordered a 2023 f-250 xlt on Feb. 16 and just received an e-mail that stated that it would be built the week of the 19th of june.
Picked up my xlt drw crew cab last week
Love it

F-350 King Ranch with front Warn Winch with all the equipment on it
Never heard nothing at all !!! Very disappointed at Ford production plant in Kentucky:.. I should get some kind of email addressing that truck I ordered.
That is not the way big corporations should conduct business in the 20th century with modern day age computer systems .
Very sad and disappointed. I want a reply too this order placed.
Thank you .
I ordered my King Ranch in Oct 2022 and I just got a email stating my build date is July 26, 2023 so I think you will not see your truck until very late in 2023. JK

Ordered my 2023 f350 xlt full size 8 ft bed 7.3 gas as soon as I was able to in Nov and still no build date, glad to hear they are starting building higher trims when they haven’t delivered/built on phase 1 yet, I’m sure this isn’t gonna slow down the process at all 😐
Ordered a f250 king ranch end of October 2022, still have not received an email stating when it would be built, they keep saying supply chain issues, “really” this is absolutely absurd, there were not any issues before Covid and now they can’t even get parts to build trucks, it’s a shame one of the biggest truck manufactures is going down hill!!!
ordered a f250 king ranch on nov 1 2022 its june 13 2023 and i still dont have a build date or a serial number my first truck was a 72 f250 my present truck is a 2011 f350 with 5 trucks in between im glad this will be my last i,ve never seen $hit like this in my life
Can someone……. anyone, please tell me when the KR’s, Platinum’s and Limited 450’s will be built ?? 8 months today since mine was ordered and still have no Vin # or Build date.
I ordered my F350 limited feb 2022. I was told by a Ford mgr june 12th that there not building anything with a sun roof and that my pickup was not going to be built. So i bought a GM
I ordered 2 F-350 King Ranch edition trucks in Oct ’22. I received confirmation of the orders on Nov. 2, 2022 from Ford. Still no word on build dates (only getting emails stating experiencing delays due to supply chain challenges), my sales rep checks every week on the status with no luck.
