Blue Oval fans have had their fair share of new, cool diecast collectibles to choose from in recent months, a list that includes the all-new S650 generation 2024 Ford Mustang, a Ford Mustang Mach-E New York City taxi cab, the 1986 Ford Taurus from Tommy Boy, and the retro-themed Ford Bronco Heritage, to name just a few. Now, fans of the Ford convertibles that starred in the iconic movie Grease will soon get their chance to score miniature replicas of those movie stars as well, thanks to Greenlight Collectibles.
One of our most popular product lines is getting another series! These replicas will bring on the nostalgia.

These new offerings are part of the soon-to-be-released 1:64 Hollywood Series 40 collection, which is tentatively scheduled to launch this August. First up, we have the 1948 Ford Deluxe convertible that starred in that legendary movie, which came out way back in 1978. The limited-edition model helps to expand Greenlight’s “Hollywood Series” and features some truly impressive detailing including its rubber tires and lightning graphics, which makes sense given the fact that it’s an officially licensed product.
The other half of this Blue Oval convertible duo from Grease is yet another famous ride from the big screen – this 1949 Mercury drop top that is finished in black with traditional orange/yellow flames, giving it a proper hot rod look befitting of the movie’s 1950s theme. It too comes in custom themed packaging with a metal body and chassis, along with plenty of detail inside and out.
Both of these cool movie star diecast recreations are expected to release a bit earlier than the other models in the Hollywood Series 40 collection – sometime in June or July – though as usual, that date is subject to change. Both will retail for a very reasonable $7.99 however, which makes it pretty easy for Grease superfans to add both to their collections.
We’ll have more cool die-cast cars like this to share soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for comprehensive Ford news coverage.

1:64 scale? Why bother.
