Again, No Ford F-150 Lightning Discount Available In May 2023

The Blue Oval has yet to offer a significant Ford F-150 Lightning discount or incentive so far, and May 2023 is no different, as once again, no offers or deals are available toward the all-electric pickup.

However, while Ford itself isn’t offering a Ford F-150 Lightning discount this month, certain models do qualify for the $7,500 Federal EV tax credit as long as the overall price of the EV pickup does not exceed $80,000. However, non-commercial customers who choose to lease instead of purchase are unable to take advantage of the aforementioned tax credit.

2022 Ford F-150 Lightning

The lack of Ford F-150 Lightning incentive offers can be at least partially attributed to high demand and low supply of the EV pickup. To keep pace with demand, Ford plans to ramp up production of several of its most popular models, including the F-150 Lightning, by 2024.

As part of this production boost, FoMoCo has elected to transfer some workers from its Dearborn Truck plant to the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center over the summer, while also hiring 300 new employees in order to get the F-150 Lightning rolling off the assembly line at a faster pace.

Thanks to revised pricing, certain trim levels on the Ford F-150 Lightning are more affordable now than they have been, while others received a minor increase in pricing. In fact, parties interested in securing an F-150 Lightning for themselves once again have the opportunity to do so, as order banks for the EV pickup recently reopened.
