Ford F-150 Lightning Wins 2023 Wards 10 Best Interior Award

In the short time that it’s been on sale, the Ford F-150 Lightning has accumulated a considerable number of accolades, a list that includes honors such as EdmundsTop Rated EV truck and Best of the Best award, 2023 MotorTrend Truck of the Year, 2023 North American Truck of the Year, a Kelley Blue Book 2023 Best Resale Value award, and a spot on Wards Top 10 list for best powertrains. Now, that same latter organization has once again recognized the Ford F-150 Lightning, this time granting it a spot on the 2023 10 Best Interiors & UX list.

The Ford F-150 Lightning is one of six all-electric vehicles to make the cut this year, which is one more than last year’s split result and also a record for that particular category. Judges voted on 21 different models this time around, scoring each vehicle based on impressions garnered during driving each daily for a period of time in categories such as design, quality, use of materials, fit and finish, comfort, and technology.

“For automotive interior and user-experience technology enthusiasts, there’s perhaps been no better era to be alive,” said Christie Schweinsberg, Wards editor and 10 Best Interiors & UX judge. “The creative design cues we’re witnessing are bold and refreshing, and trim materials are unique and eye-catching. Furthermore, the user experience has been elevated by the increasing digitization of the cockpit, with showy animation greeting drivers on displays and ambient lighting taking center stage like never before.”

“Infotainment systems also are better than ever, with menus less cluttered and easier to navigate,” Schweinsberg added. “The performance of voice recognition and ease of connecting a phone to utilize wireless Apple CarPlay also was impressive in many of our 2023 winners.”

  1. A lot of good all these “awards” do the thousands of reservation holders who have waited 2 years in line like myself. Now they just opened up the order process to anyone who doesn’t have a reservation. Hours ago Ford sent me an email that says:
We understand it has been too long since you last heard from us. Today, we wanted to give you an update on the status of your F-150 Lightning XLT order.

Unfortunately, continued supply chain issues are slowing things down. We’re working diligently to try and reduce these delays.

Now here’s our promise to you. We know that waiting for delivery of your Ford is far less fun than actually driving it. So, we commit to updating you as soon as we can, at least once every 45 days regarding your vehicle’s production schedule status. No matter what.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

    I call B.S. on Ford.

    1. Yes! I feel the exact same way. I myself am a reservation holder for the Lightning Pro and when I try to place my order it says the 2023 model year is sold out. On top of that it’s $20,000 more expensive than when it first came out. A price lock for reservation holders was never stated so if it’s still that price once I’m actually able to order one, I doubt that I actually will end up getting it despite all this waiting.
