M-Sport Ford Fiesta Rally3 Evo Debuts With Key Upgrades

Back in late 2020, Ford revealed the new Fiesta Rally3, designed to cater to pro drivers and high-level amateur racers as a cost-effective stepping stone of sorts between two- and four-wheel-drive cars, and is intended to help drivers hone the skills necessary to pilot a four-wheel-drive racer. Following Ford’s decision to end production of the Fiesta last October, many wondered if the long-running nameplate had a future in rally racing, though as Ford Authority previously reported, the automaker’s M-Sport rally team has enough parts to keep it going for years to come. Now, M-Sport Poland has revealed the next-generation version of that very same machine, too – the Ford Fiesta Rally3 Evo.

As one might imagine, the “Evo” portion of the Ford Fiesta Rally3 Evo refers to “evolution,” and that’s precisely what has taken place here. After its predecessor debuted in 2021 and rose to prominence in WRC3 and FIA Junior WRC competition, the Fiesta racer has been treated to some new bodywork including a revised bumper, hood, and side mirrors, which are designed to improve cooling, as well as LED headlights and taillights and the same rear wing as the Fiesta Rally2.

In terms of performance, the Fiesta Rally3 Evo gets new dampers designed for use on both asphalt and gravel, a short-ratio gearbox that improves low-end acceleration, and air ducts that improve brake cooling. This enhanced machine is set to make its racing debut this week at ERC Rally Islas Canarias, with Jon Armstrong behind the wheel.

“The Rally3 category is a very important category, not just for M-Sport Poland, but for the entire sport,” said M-Sport Poland managing director Maciej Woda. “We have had extremely positive feedback from customers around the world about the Fiesta Rally3 since its launch. This year we will face competition in the Rally3 category from another manufacturer which we are very much looking forward to. This is competition though. We want to make sure we are doing everything we can to make sure the Fiesta Rally3 Evo is the most competitive product available on the market and this comprehensive update underlines that. Make no mistake either, development is a continuous process with all cars produced by M-Sport Poland as we are always seeking to push the boundaries of what’s possible with our cars.”
