NASCAR Ford Teams Non-Factors Xfinity Dover April 2023: Video

Cole Custer, driver of the No. 00 NASCAR Ford Mustang in the Xfinity Series, managed to get out front and show the way for a handful of laps, but he didn’t have the race car to fend off the hard-charging No. 19 Toyota TRD Supra of Ryan Truex and a slew of Chevy Camaro race cars for the win.

Custer’s No. 00 Mustang got ahead of polesitter Parker Kligerman in the No. 48 Camaro early in the race. However, the handling in his race car went away after a while, relegating him to stage finishes outside the top five.

He ultimately rallied back to a seventh-place finish overall, and while he wasn’t the overall victor of the race at Dover, he was the highest-finishing driver eligible for the Dash 4 Cash. That means he walked away from the race with a $100,000 bonus check for the second week in a row, after also doing so last weekend at Talladega.

Meanwhile, Truex’s No. 19 Supra led the most laps, scoring his first NASCAR win in dominating fashion. The rest of the NASCAR Ford teams finished outside the top 10, with the No. 25 Mustang of Brett Moffit scored as the next-best Blue Oval team.
