Hennessey Performance currently builds and sells all sorts of heavily-modified versions of Blue Oval vehicles including the Ford Bronco Raptor-based VelociRaptor 500, as well as the VelociRaptoR 1000 and VelociRaptoR 6×6, both of which are based on the Ford F-150 Raptor R. Now, that lineup continues to grow with the addition of the latest VelcoRaptor 500, this time based on the all-new, just-revealed North American 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor.
As is the case with all of Hennessey’s offerings, the VelociRaptor 500 Ranger Raptor comes equipped with a bevy of upgrades in all areas, starting on the outside. There, the rugged pickup has been treated to a set of VelociRaptor bumpers, LED off-road lighting, unique 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, 35-inch off-road tires, and “VelociRaptor 500” badging. Inside the cabin, the mid-sizer gets embroidered headrests, a unique build number plaque, and all-weather floor mats.
The big news, of course, is what has taken place under the hood, where the new Ranger Raptor is powered by the twin-turbocharged Ford 3.0L V6 EcoBoost engine, which is factory rated to produce 405 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. There, Hennessey has added a new air induction system, a high-capacity intercooler with a blow-off valve, and an upgraded engine management system. The result is an even 500 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque – gains of 95 horsepower and 120 pound-feet.
The VelociRaptor 500 Ranger Raptor is accompanied by a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty from the Texas-based tuner itself, with a price tag of $24,950 – not including the donor truck, of course. Customers interested in ordering one of these fortified off-roaders can do so now, either through Hennessey itself or via an authorized Ford dealer, with deliveries currently expected to begin in Q4 of 2023.
