With production of the latest Ford GT coming to an end, the already-desirable supercar figures to become even more so, though we’ve certainly seen our fair share of high-ticket auction listings over the past few years. However, this 2019 Ford GT Carbon Series that’s going up for grabs at Barrett-Jackson’s upcoming 2023 Las Vegas auction figures to be even more desirable than the average GT, as it’s a formidable and collectible version of that beloved model.
The optional Lightweight Package fitted to this 2019 Ford GT Carbon Series cost a whopping $70,000 on top of the car’s near half-million dollar price tag, and this particular example is also finished in Liquid Gray paint, which added another $5,000 to its sticker price. To help preserve that finish, this Ford GT has been wrapped with paint protection film, ceramic coated, and fitted with a windshield protection film, all of which cost a reported $10,000.
As for the Lightweight Package, it sheds 40 pounds from the supercar and adds things like exposed carbon-fiber stripes, 20-inch gloss carbon-fiber wheels wrapped with 245/35 front and 325/30 rear Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, a titanium exhaust system, titanium lug nuts, and a polycarbonate engine cover. This car is also fitted with the Carbon Package, which adds a set of Sparco carbon-fiber seats and exposed carbon fiber on the door sills, dashboard, center console, and seat backs.
In terms of powertrains, all Ford GT models are equipped with a fortified version of the twin turbocharged Ford 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, which in this guise produces 647 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque. This one-owner example has just 3,223 original miles showing on the odometer and looks brand new as a result, meaning that it’s likely to command big bucks on the auction block later this month.
