2023 Ford Escape Has Officially Arrived In Mexico

Ford has been quickly expanding its lineup in Mexico over the past several months, adding vehicles such as the all-new Ford Ranger and the retro-themed Ford Bronco Sport Heritage to its list of available offerings. Now, following the debut of the refreshed 2023 Ford Escape last October, that crossover has also launched in Mexico, giving customers in that particular country a newly updated version of the long-running crossover to choose from.

2023 Ford Escape

In Mexico, 2023 Ford Escape customers can choose from four different trim levels – Active, ST-Line, ST-Line Select, and ST-Line Elite. However, only one powertrain is available – the hybrid setup, which consists of the 2.5L I-4 Atkinson Cycle gas engine and a 96 kW electric motor powered by a 1.1 kWh battery, good for a combined output of 192 horsepower and an EPA-estimated range of at least 600 kilometers per tank (373 miles).

Otherwise, the Mexican version of the 2023 Ford Escape is much like the one on sale in the U.S., which means that it combines revised exterior styling with an updated interior and new tech features. Inside the cabin, the refreshed crossover offers a standard 8-inch infotainment screen or an optional 13.2-inch unit running Sync 4 with standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel cluster is also available. The Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of driver-assist features has been updated with Intersection Assist and Blind Spot Assist, while the automaker’s Power-Up over-the-air update capability will keep the crossover up to date over time.

In the U.S., production of the refreshed Escape has ramped up significantly over the past couple of months, and the crossover has also earned a spot on Consumer ReportsBest American Vehicles list and a “good” rating in updated Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) front overlap crash testing. In Mexico, the 2023 Ford Escape is available in six different colors – Metallic White, Cherry Red, Nebula Blue, Silver, Obsidian Black, and Carbon Gray. Pricing starts out at $766,000 ($44,773 USD), and the refreshed crossover is available to purchase now.
