While Shelby has long been known for churning out some pretty special Ford Mustang models, it also offers plenty of Ford F-150 parts and accessories -as well as entire turnkey builds. That includes the vaunted Super Snake and Shelby’s own version of the F-150 Raptor, both of which add an array of styling and performance upgrades to the best-selling pickup. Now, that lineup has expanded yet again with the addition of the 2023 Ford F-150 Centennial Edition, which was just revealed.
The 2023 Ford F-150 Centennial Edition differs a bit from the Super Snake in that it focuses more on off-road performance rather than paved surfaces, paying tribute to Carroll Shelby’s love of playing around in the dirt – not just race tracks and roads. Shelby owned the very first production Ford Bronco, in fact, and built a handful of trucks and SUVs over the years as well.
The 2023 Ford F-150 Centennial Edition is based on a Lariat, SuperCrew, four-wheel drive model with the Ford 5.0L V8 Coyote engine, to which customers can add a Shelby supercharger kit to lift output from 400 horsepower all the way up to 800, if so desired, which includes not only the blower, but also an upgraded air intake, an aluminum heat exchanger, a Shelby by Borla exhaust system, and a billet throttle body with high-flow injectors.
Underneath, the F-150 Centennial Edition is treated to beefier brakes, rear traction bars, and a Shelby by Fox suspension system with a BDS lift and 2.5 internal bypass reservoir shocks. On the outside, the truck looks like a proper Shelby thanks to a ram air hood, 22-inch wheels with 35-inch BFGoodrich KO2 tires, fender flares, a new front bumper cover, and Shelby badging, which extends to the interior as well.
2023 Ford F-150 Centennial Edition buyers also nab a Team Shelby membership, a Carroll Shelby Edition black Stetson hat, and a special book with their purchase, but this particular truck won’t be very common on the roads, as Shelby only plans to build 100 of them for this model year. Pricing starts out at $129,450 including the truck itself, while the supercharged model features an MSRP of $138,495.
