All-New Ford Ranger Production Begins In Argentina

Ford Argentina has undergone some major updates in recent months, launching a bevy of new products including the Ford Territory, the Ford Maverick Hybrid, as well as a new E-Transit pilot program ahead of that EV van landing in the South American country. Argentina is also the home of the Pacheco Assembly plant, which has built more than one million Ford Ranger pickups over the past quarter-century plus. That facility has been undergoing a remodel with a total investment of $80 million in preparation for production of the all-new next-generation Ford Ranger, and now, that process is officially complete.

Production of the new Ford Ranger is underway at the Pacheco Assembly plant, a special occasion marked by an event held by the automaker with the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, the head of the Union of Automotive Transport Mechanics – SMATA, Ricardo Pignanelli, the president and CEO of Ford South America, Daniel Justo, and the president and CEO of Ford Argentina, Martín Galdeano in attendance.

Following its massive investment in Pacheco, Ford notes that this facility is now “a 4.0 manufacturing operation,” which features the latest in high-tech equipment and a vastly improved production capacity that now stands at 110,000 units annually – a 70 percent increase over its prior limit.

“The Ranger is the most important product in our business strategy in South America, with a focus on pick ups, SUVs, and light commercials with a high level of quality and technology,” Justo said. “Our goal of growing in all markets in the region explains the magnitude of our investment in Pacheco Plant to manufacture the next generation of Ranger that will redefine the medium-sized pickup segment in South America.”
