Factory Five XT-1 Pre-Runner F-150 Is a DIY Raptor Beater

Factory Five Racing has been making and selling all kinds of cool recreations for years now, ranging from modernized Shelby Cobras to ’30s hot rods to one-off supercars. However, the company has decided to move in an entirely new direction with the brand new Factory Five XT-1 Pre-Runner F-150, which essentially turns any 2015-2020 Ford F-150 model into a high-flying, Raptor-beating monster of an off-road machine.

Factory Five XT-1 Pre-Runner F-150 - Ladder Frame

Unlike most upgrades out there, the Factory Five XT-1 Pre-Runner F-150 goes far beyond a simple lift kit and/or suspension upgrades, instead ditching the truck’s factory frame for a brand new tubular steel unit designed using SolidWorks CAD software that’s 17 feet long and weighs 800 pounds. That’s a full 100 pounds heavier than the F-150’s stock ladder frame, but according to Factory Five, it’s twice as strong – perfect for high-speed off-road activities.

From there, the outfit adds a custom long travel suspension at both ends with remote reservoir dual-adjustable Fox shocks, tubular upper and lower control arms, beefy sway bars, and a four-link setup with coilovers out back, giving it a front suspension travel of 16 inches and a whopping 20 inches in the rear.

To give the XT-1 the looks to back up such serious upgrades. Factory Five adds a custom front end, hood, and bed, along with functional vents, a carbon fiber front fascia, and a steel-off-road rear bumper. Those parts help make it 90 inches wide at both the front and rear fenders, which is 3.5 inches wider than a Hummer H1. The cost of all this goodness is $24,990, not including the donor truck, paint, and wheels and tires, though there are plenty of additional options that can drive that price even higher.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

Perhaps we should temper the hyperbole until this thing has actually beaten a Raptor R?
