Team Rubicon Powered By Ford Is New Disaster Relief Effort

In the past, Ford Motor Company has taken part in disaster relief efforts, taking on the aftermath of Hurricane Ian by donating funds to local food banks and calling on Ford dealers and employees to aid in transporting displaced storm victims in Florida. Ford also ponied up and sent F-150 Lightning EVs to provide power for victims of flooding in Kentucky. Since then, Ford workers extended a hand to those in need in Turkey following a devasting earthquake, and now, The Blue Oval is stepping up its humanitarian efforts by expanding its relationship with Team Rubicon, an organization that provides disaster relief across the United States.

One June 20th, 2023, FoMoCo announced Team Rubicon Powered By Ford, a disaster relief initiative created with the goal of providing assistance to U.S. communities that have been stricken by hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes and wildfires. Ford’s sizable monetary investment and donation of 17 vehicles will aid Team Rubicon in answering the needs of American communities after natural disasters.

“At the heart of Ford is our commitment to help out our communities in times of need and make it possible for our employees to volunteer their time and talent to help others,” said Bill Ford, Executive Chair, in a statement. “The reality is weather-related disasters in the U.S. are becoming more frequent and more severe. That is why we are significantly expanding our relationship with Team Rubicon, donating a fleet of vehicles and deploying volunteers where they are needed most.”

Ten Ford F-150 XL pickups with 3.5L V6 PowerBoost V6 engines, three Ford F-150 Lightning EVs with Pro Power Onboard, two Ford F-350 Super Duty pickups, and two Ford Bronco four-doors will be donated to Team Rubicon. These vehicles will be wrapped in a cobranded livery to make them readily recognizable. Each model will feature a unique rear pattern inspired by aircraft tail art.

Additionally, Ford Fund will invest nearly $2.5 million in Team Rubicon’s Ready Reserve Fund, which allows the organization to provide no-cost services for communities in the wake of a natural disaster. Additionally, as part of Ford’s Volunteer Corps, Ford employees have the opportunity to volunteer alongside Team Rubicon volunteers with the opportunity to get paid time off while taking part.
