The Ford Mustang Bullitt has been produced in limited quantities on a handful of occasions throughout the years, with the most recent bowing out before the end of S550 production. Prior to that, pony car fans – as well as those that love Steve McQueen or the iconic Bullitt movie that he starred in – could pick up a New Edge Bullitt, which offered up the same sort of tasteful upgrades that we’ve since come to expect. Now, this very nice 2001 Ford Mustang Bullitt is up for grabs at Bring a Trailer, giving someone the option to score a low-mile example of that special machine.
This 2001 Ford Mustang Bullitt is about as nice as they come these days, thanks largely to the fact that it has a mere 15k miles showing on the odometer – a rather low total given its age. It’s also one of just 5,582 built for the 2001 model year, as well as one of 3,041 finished in the iconic shade dubbed Dark Highland Green. The seller acquired the car back in 2001, and it has lived its entire life in sunny, dry California ever since, which is always a bonus.
As one would expect, all of the requisite goodies that make this a Bullitt Mustang are present and accounted for, including a brushed-aluminum fuel door, Bullitt badging, a hood scoop, a black honeycomb grille, 17-inch aluminum five-spoke wheels, and dual exhaust outlets. Inside the cabin, this pony car is fitted with a Dark Charcoal interior with leather seats, air conditioning, cruise control, a brushed aluminum shift knob, Bullitt door sills, and the Mach 460 stereo system with a six-disc CD changer.
Power comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.6L V8, which is equipped with a cast aluminum intake, twin 57mm throttle bodies, and high-flow Arvin mufflers. The powerplant was originally rated to produce 265 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque, which flows to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. In amazing condition and packing plenty of movie star appeal, it’s safe to say that plenty of suitors will probably line up to bid on this beautiful Bullitt – and rightfully so.

This is a $20K car max. Anyone who pays more than that is out of their minds.
