2024 Ford Maverick Adds New Azure Gray Color: First Look

The 2024 Ford Maverick gets two new exterior colors, including Terrain and Azure Gray Metallic. Below, Ford Authority takes a first look at the latter color, Azure Gray Metallic.

Azure Gray Metallic Tri-Coat is tagged with paint code G4, and is a $495 option for the 2024 Ford Maverick XLT and Lariat trims. It’s not available at all on the base XL trim. It can be outfitted in conjunction with four interior colorways, including Navy Pier/Medium Slate, Desert Brown, Black Onyx and Black Onyx – Tremor. As a reminder, the following are all exterior color options available for the 2024 Maverick (relevant paint codes listed in parentheses):

  • Atlas Blue Metallic (B3)
  • Carbonized Gray Metallic (M7)
  • Cactus Gray (NE)
  • Iconic Silver Metallic (JS)
  • Oxford White (YZ)
  • Shadow Black (G1)
  • Terrain (VA) (new for 2024)
  • Azure Gray Metallic Tri-Coat (G4) (new for 2024)

Meanwhile, the following represents all available interior colorways:

  • Black Onyx/Medium Dark Slate
  • Navy Pier/Medium Slate
  • Desert Brown
  • Black Onyx
  • Black Onyx – Tremor

Finally, below, we’ve listed all trim levels for the 2024 Ford Maverick:

  • XL
  • XLT
  • Lariat

The two new exterior colors for the 2024 Ford Maverick replace four outgoing exterior colors, including Area 51 (paint code KU), Avalanche Gray (paint code DR), Alto Blue Metallic Tinted Clearcoat (paint code L3) and Cyber Orange Metallic Tri Coat (paint code SB).

Other significant changes on the way for the forthcoming model year include the drop the 2.0L EcoBoost I4 as the new standard engine option, replacing the 2.5L I4 hybrid engine that was previously standard for the 2023 model year. The compact pickup no longer features the SecuriCode keypad, while the Tremor package now includes standard decals in lieu of the optional appearance package.

The 2024 Ford Maverick is expected begin production at the Hermosillo Assembly plant in Mexico on October 16th, 2023. Interested customers should expect to shell out a bit more for the forthcoming model than they would have for the 2023 model year compact pickup, as it gained price increases across the board.

  2. I was told the Carbonized Gray, (the color I have on the 2022 that I am currently driving) along with the Silver are now only offered in fleet vehicles. I ordered a “Hot Pepper Red” XLT and nobody told me it wasn’t available. I got an email from Ford saying they had received my order.

  3. How about you just fill your orders!

    1. Crazy, they let people order for something they don’t want to deliver.

  4. I ordered the Maverick truck, back in September, the dealer or manufacturer, never tell you what’s going on,all they say is it will be built.Yesterday I sent a email by RonDupratt Ford in Dixon ,Ca.They say the 2023 models are not being built, you have to reorder a 2024 for additional $5000.00.Ford Motor Corporation is incompetent to build and there dealers are even worst,Don’t buy Fords, there crooks.

    1. I had the same problem and I had to change the color of my car because alto blue is not there anymore. I also had to drop from a lariat to an xlt because the price was too high. If I don’t get my hybrid soon I will just wind up ordering a toyota stout and see which one comes in first.

    2. Sounds like your dealer is the crook. You can go online and build your own to see what the price should be, and the dealer, if you order it, cannot charge over MSRP (which will be the price you see when you build it). I have done this 3 times now and not had to pay over MSRP, although dealer stock for a similarly outfitted truck was $10K more than my build/ordered truck. Find a dealer who agrees to honor that built price and use them.

    3. They have not stopped bullding 2023 models. They just mismanaged converting 2022 orders to 2023 orders so badly that they lost some of the orders. They want you to order a 24 so they know it will not be ultimately lost in the system, but are still building 23s until October. Between now and then, if yours gets a build date, they will send that to you and after delivery, you can cancel the 24 order (or keep it and flip it for profit).

  5. If you’re having problems with your order? Just something to remember ; President Trump told Ford this would happen if they went to Mexico. He begged them to stay in America and build everything here. Just for the record😏

  6. @Billy –
If one’s 23 order doesn’t get scheduled in the “build-out”, the 24 carry-over order (if placed) will get a Ford incentive to help mitigate the increased cost. However, if the 23 gets scheduled, then Ford will cancel the 24 order.

    1. Oh, did not realize Ford would cancel the order…that sucks. I took delivery of mine a couple of weeks ago (23 model) and placed an order for a 24 on July 17th for another one because the very base XL I took delivery of was $26K all in (including TTL), and the KBB trade-in value was $32K+ with 10K miles on it. Not sure if I will keep the 24 or flip it.

  7. Did you hire the color selector for the Santa Cruz which has boring colors?
You get rid of the good colors and replace them with crap!
Glad I got my Velocity Blue Lariat when I did.

  8. Why not call it Primer Gray?

  9. just found out Ford canceled my October 2021 order which I had placed a deposit on. They never bothered to inform me. I’ve had two lousey emails from them that basically said thanks for your patience! Two Years!
The dealer claims he can get me a 2024 at same price. I won’t pay more. There are other trucks to buy.

  11. My 2023 (ordered September 16, 2022) has now become a 2024, that’s doesn’t offer the Alto Blue that they sold me. They discontinued the color I wanted so obviously I chose a new color that I like. The kicker is they want to charge me $495 for it up charge in the azure gray. I don’t feel that is fair since they are the ones that changed.
