Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2014-2016 Ford Transit Connect models due to an issue with the front door latch pawl.
The defect: in affected vehicles, the front door latch pawl may crack and prevent the door from latching properly.
The hazards: a door that doesn’t latch properly could increase the risk of injury.
Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Affected vehicles: select 2014-2016 Ford Transit Connect models built between August 9th, 2013, and February 1st, 2016.
Number of vehicles affected: 112,225
The fix: dealers will inspect and replace the front door latches as necessary, free of charge.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin August 28th, 2023. The Ford reference number for this recall is 23S36.

I have a company issued 2016 TRANSIT CONNECT. I almost never use the passenger side sliding door yet it comes open to the point where the indicator light comes on. Perhaps this is related.
