A desirable machine produced in extremely limited quantities and only sold to approved customers, it’s no surprise that the second-generation Ford GT continues to attract heavy interest – and big money – at auction. Now that production of the latest Ford GT has officially ended, that interest figures to continue to grow, and we’ve certainly seen plenty of these special cars hit the auction block and command big money in recent months. This very nice 2019 Ford GT Carbon Series figures to be the next one to do precisely that, as it’s already attracting heavy interest from bidders over at Bring a Trailer.
The seller of this 2019 Ford GT Carbon Series acquired the car earlier this year and added just 50 miles to its total – which now stands at just 3,300 miles – and it’s special for a number of reasons. For starters, this car’s exterior color – Heritage Blue – was a $30k extended color palette option. It’s also equipped with the aforementioned Carbon Series Package, which cost $70k, as well as the Carbon Graphics Package.
The Carbon Series Package sheds 40 pounds from the curb weight of the supercar and adds goodies such as exposed carbon-fiber stripes, 20-inch gloss carbon-fiber wheels wrapped with 245/35 front and 325/30 rear Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, a titanium exhaust system, titanium lug nuts, and a polycarbonate engine cover. Additionally, the Carbon Graphics Package matches the mirror caps to the center stripes.
In terms of powertrains, all Ford GT models are equipped with a fortified version of the twin turbocharged Ford 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, which in this guise produces 647 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque. Given the stellar condition this one presents in, coupled with its desirable options, it’s no surprise that bidding has reached $765,000 as of this writing, with a full three days left before the hammer falls on this particular auction.
